They are quick and good for racing. The traction is about the best of any trail shoe. Holds well in mud. No slipping. The run a big large. I normally wear size 13 running shoes in all other brands. For these, the size 13 was too big. I ordered size 12.5 and it is perfect.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2024Color: Wood/FossilSize: 12.5Verified PurchaseI ran some short test runs on trail with these about 30 miles. Then I ran a 50 mile race in them with 8k of vertical. The shoe has a good lock down at the ankle. Used xoskin toe sock with a darn tough sock over those. No issues, shoe gives good ground feel, great grip, it was dry feet did not feel hot. I did not get them wet so not sure how they dry. Seem durable with no issues 80 miles. First time in shoes with no blisters, I think the lock down is the key. It takes a few runs to get the footbed seated to your foot. Good shoe! 8-10 for trail running.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2024Color: Finesse BlackSize: 11.5Verified PurchaseI was looking for shoes I can wear for grass volleyball. It's hard to tell how trail running shoes do with aggressive lateral movements; the worst feeling is when your feet slip inside the shoes, like when the upper mesh is stretchy or they're too wide. I also have some Lone Peaks, which are great for running and walking but terrible for grass volleyball due to the wide toe-box (I guess if you have wide feet, they may work for you, but I have average width, closer to narrow). I was also worried about rolling my ankle, so I wanted something with a lower stack height (these have 28mm at the heel and 24mm at the toe). I also have the Speedcrosses and although I haven't rolled an ankle, I've been close several times. I've found the Peregrine top notch on both accounts. I also like the big lugs on the outsole, they help prevent slipping and have good traction with some moisture in the grass. This is my second pair of Peregrines. Cheers!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2024UPDATE 07/08: Saucony reached back out to me, and after multiple conversations, decided to warranty and replace the shoe.
Shoe looks good and feels good. Great traction and stability. Light.
BUT! After 5 runs the shoe, on the right side only, began failing in the heel. I contacted Saucony for a warranty claim and they responded by saying the shoe is too big, I don’t know how to tie my shoes correctly, and I have high arches — so the defect is not their problem and refused to stand by their product.
I run 4-5 times a week and have for over a decade. I get fitted for every shoe I buy because I know every shoe fits different, especially a trail shoe. I go thru 3-4 trail shoes a year and have been running exclusively in Saucony during that time. Well over 30 pairs at this point and never had a problem. So unless all of a sudden, sometime between getting fitted and the 4th to 5th run ….my right foot shrunk… or my right foot developed a high arch …or I started to tie my right side incorrectly — then Saucony is responsible. Again, over a decade of running 4-5x a week, and I’ve never had an issue on either heal.
On principle alone, I will never again buy Saucony’s product.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2025Color: Wood/FossilSize: 10Verified PurchaseI'm not a hiker or trail runner. I want to get that out of the way first. My point of view is that of someone who spends most of there time in urban and suburban areas with pavement, gravel, grass, and just a bit of dirt sand and mud.
I bought these shoes because I live in the desert, and not only are there plenty of sharp little burs all over that can stab right through normal tennis shoes, but sudden rains can also cause sandy soil to cover the sidewalks, making them slippery. Kicking lifted sidewalk slabs with no toe protection isn't any fun either. I was hoping to cover all the bases with these guys, even if I had to go with the non waterproofed versions thanks to the summer heat.
The good:
My toes are much more protected from impacts thanks to the toe caps. They aren't steel or anything, but still nice to have.
I don't get sharp things through the bottoms of my shoes any more, thanks to the footplate.
The mesh makes these shoes nice and breathable.
These shoes are light, low profile, and fashionable enough to fit right in in the city.
The bad:
Maybe the special rubber on these shoes really is good for taking off from slippery natural surfaces when running. I don't know. But for walking on pavement or gravel, they don't seem to have any advantage what so ever, and in fact they've already warn the tiny bit of roughness off the bottom within the first few months of light walking. Now they're just as much of a liability as the $35 pair of sketchers they replaced.
After about a year, one of the loops that holds in the laces is already broken. I'm not rough on my shoes, but just the feeling of the material used for those loops is enough to tell you that no real attention was paid to them.
Same goes for the laces. They're thin and fragile, with pretty easily cracked end caps.
Over all, I was expecting more for the price. Thankfully I got them on sale when the new model came out, but I wouldn't ever suggest buying these at full MSRP.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pas GORE-TEX
