Product Description
The 846 Carbon Conductive Grease is an electrically conductive silicone grease for improving electrical connections between sliding surfaces and parts. The 846 grease is designed to lubricate while maintaining good grounding connection. It inhibits corrosion and repels humidity providing an economical way to protect switches or to bridge the gap between contacting surfaces for EMI shielding applications. It is also great for providing electrical continuity between irregular or pitted surfaces. 5 year shelf life. 40 to 104 degree F storage temperature limits. -40 to 248 degree F service temperature. Maximum coverage (for 25 micrometer thickness): less than 28,600 sq cm. Volume conductivity: 8.57 mS/cm.

Customers are satisfied with the performance of the product. They mention that it works well, has good results, and does its job. Some say that a little goes a long way, but it's a superb product that works well on old furnaces and zone valves with slide.
"I use it on battery posts works well and seems to help connection. Just be mindful that this stuff is vary messy similarly to anti seize" Read more
"This is a superb product and looks like this is the only company that makes it...." Read more
"Very good product. I checked the grease with an ohm meter and it actually is conductive...." Read more
"...This stuff is great, but a little goes a long way, and it's a real mess to work with and gets all over everything unless you are very careful...." Read more
Customers are satisfied with the conductivity of the grease. They mention that it is conductive, improves conductivity, and solidifies. Some say that the product is very greasy and needs brake cleaner to remove.
"This product greatly improved the conductivity of my old Lionel tubular track on my train layout...." Read more
"...It did what I expected, it solidified the conductivity and fixed the performance. However, it really is black, it's a mess and difficult to clean...." Read more
"...I checked the grease with an ohm meter and it actually is conductive. Because of the free carbon in suspension, it's extremely messy to work with...." Read more
"...Very excellent conduct grease. Only it is very greasy, use brake cleaner to remove...." Read more
Customers like the compatibility of the product. They mention that it allows for a better electrical connection surface, improves voltage, and comes in handy with the electrical connections. Some say that it's the ultimate choice for increased connections, and is great for battery and starter connections.

In my test with a basic multimeter, an inch long strip of this grease provided me about 2k ohms of resistance. Of course, the resistance decreases with shorter distances, and there really is just some microscopic distances between mechanical grounds. I use MG's 846 for corrosion protection and the best electrical connection possible.
A word of caution: Never use any type of conductive greases with automotive electrical connectors. You'll immediately regret it when your circuit shorts out! Conductive greases have very specific applications. Non-conductive greases such as dielectric grease are often used with electrical connectors to function as corrosion protection - not to enhance the electrical conductivity of the circuit. I use dielectric grease far more frequently than conductive grease.
PS - Both the aluminum and the copper based anti-seize greases are non-conductive according to my multimeter. A quick test on your part, if you own some, will verify this.
My tube did NOT have the skinny extended nozzle shown in the illustration -- instead it had a simple tooth-paste-tube size screw cap and nozzle. The small nozzle would have been better.
But it seems to work.
