Round Here and Over Yonder: A Front Porch Travel Guide by Two Progressive Hillbillies (Yes, That’s a Thing.) Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

Read by the authors.

Join Southern comedian duo Trae Crowder and Corey Ryan Forrester in this hilarious and irreverent travel guide as they wander about ponderin' the peculiarities beyond their small-town front porches.

Trae and Corey will take you from the smallest of small towns to major US metropolises (or is it metropoli? We haven't a fartin' clue!). They'll even cross the pond to sip tea in some of them fancy kings-and-castles places that PBS Viewers Like You can't stop yapping about. From Chickamauga to Cheyenne, New York to New Orleans, Seattle to Scotland—no matter where these two wandering jesters go, there's something to roast, something to toast, and something to learn about what ties us together as humans. Even the most outrageous of us.

In this book you'll find:

  • Loads of eccentric things folks say.
  • Seriously well-informed tips on exactly where to eat and what to order in each city.
  • Anecdotes from Corey about everything from "German Mardi Gras" in Helen, Georgia, to eatin' over-priced rabbit in Napa, California.
  • And as many off-the-beaten-path jokes as could be packed in!

Perfect for anyone who:

  • Likes to travel.
  • Loathes to travel.
  • Any Southerner who's both a little proud and a little ashamed of the South (that's all the sane ones).
  • Any Northerner, Midwesterner, or West Coaster who wants to know what two self-proclaimed rednecks have to say about their own hometown.
  • Anyone from the UK who thinks us Yanks are the craziest folks on God's green earth (cause this book will likely confirm that stereotype, yup).

I truly enjoyed the lightness and fun in each location. I found Trae on YouTube and enjoy his takes. The book is funny and reads in that Southern voice that makes a regular sentence sound comical. But it doesn't just make one laugh it also lets the reader experience the places through the eyes of the authors.

They are as funny on paper as they are on their podcast or in concert. If history books or books on politics or geography were this fun we wouldn't have as many unaware people running around.

There’s so much awaiting past the city limits of Celina, TN, and Chickamauga, GA, and the boys do a wonderful job delivering a very funny and, at times, touching insight into what lies out there in this big old goofy world. You walk away, realizing there’s good and beauty to be found, no matter the latitude or the longitude. Now, it must be said that they don’t deliver simply a chamber of commerce fluff piece on each location. They tell it like it is freely, not just the way we want it to be. But, with each chapter, each city, each region, or country, we are reminded that there are good people working hard to just get by everywhere, and we’re actually much more alike than we realize; we just don’t sound the same.

I absolutely LOVED this book. I laughed on every page, (& my Kindle has about 4 " turns" per page.) This laughter was much needed for me in these times. . The food descriptions were mouthwatering @ times,& I might use this book as a kind of travel guide. I'm from Denver and your description of our Mile High city was right on... I've enjoyed Liberal Redneck, & so enjoyed meeting Corey. I highly recommend this read to anyone & everyone. Thanks a bunch guys!

This book is so funny! I love both of these comedians but their take on various cities of the US as well as parts of the UK is next level. It’s laugh out loud funny and has a authentic (if slightly offbeat) unifying message - which I loved.

Everyone who has read this book finds it very entertaining. It made a great present for friends and family as well in Australia and tge United Kingdom. It’s fun to follow their lead and make up your own motto for your hometown. For New Orleans I recommend “ come for the festivals, stay because you got carjacked”

This book was awesome! The book is very easy to read and written in a conversational style. You can hear the voices of the authors in every word. When someone starts to tell you about their recent trip, these are the stories you never get to hear. If a local Chamber of Commerce or State Travel Bureau had any sense at all, these guys would be doing their next advertising campaign.

It was entertaining. Not as funny as I thought it would be. Our book club was disappointed in this book. I was not sorry I read this. Light hearted fun

My brother is a big Trey Crowder fan, so this was the perfect gift. He loves the book.
