This was part of a “go in blind” challenge – where I had to pick a romance series based purely on the covers. Which I have never done before. I’ve also never experienced any of Grace Goodwin’s writing. This was full of surprises all around.I actually thought this was going to be a romantic suspense set in space. I was off on that -as this is humanoid aliens seeking brides. Wulf agrees to an Earth-based reality TV show (like The Bachelor) and has narrowed down to a final two contestants. Since neither is his “fated mate” he’s frustrated. Then he sees make-up artist Olivia and knows he has to have her.I love that even though it’s fated mates, there’s no questions about consent. Olivia is 100% interested and willing. There’s several very steamy scenes. 🔥🔥🔥I also loved discovering that Olivia is single mom to her orphaned niece & nephew. Wulf is fantastic with the kids as well as Olivia. Loved this new little family.There was actually a little suspense as Olivia is in peril over deeds from her deceased brother and Wulf gets to save the day.There’s an HFN for these two and I like the way Goodwin wrapped up the story.Note: This is obviously a spin-off from another series and many of those characters are mentioned. Goodwin gives enough info that I didn’t feel lost or confused about who they were.Narration:I loved both Mia Sloane and Tor Thom’s performances. Both did a wonderful job with various voices and emotions. Such an easy and fun listen.

Alien bachelor star is using the show in the hope of finding his mate and getting more women to sign up for the bride's program. He finds his mate but she is not a contestant on the show. The producers aren't happy, his beast isn't happy, and his mate is in a tight spot and can't believe this is happening. Can he convince everyone, including his mate that they are meant to be together?
This was a super cute book and I really enjoyed the two main characters. The behind the scenes action and maneuvers made by the show were fun and the kids and the alien's interactions with them were great too. As always the best friend adds a great element. The heroine being a curvy girl being picked over super model types is awesome too. I think it would have helped if I was more familiar with the series this spun off of. I got a little confused a few times by all the characters introduced that I would probably have known from other books but not enough to ruin the story.
I did have an issue at the beginning with the alien being forced to choose from women that he knows aren't his fated mates. If everyone knows that beasts have a true mate why waste everyone's time on this show? If it was known he would go through the motions but only pick one that was his mate or no one, that would have made more sense. The battle scene at the end with the antagonist was entirely unbelievable too. Very entertaining though!
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fun, quick insta-love alien romances. I will read more of the series and will probably reread this one. If you are a stickler for believability you might want to skip this one.

Enjoyed Wulf and Olivia's story. Wulf is on Earth to be the first bachelor beast to find his mate on life TV. He does, but she is not one of the two remaining contestants. Instead, his beast has chosen a makeup artist who is watching from the sidelines. Oops. Olivia doesn't know what to think when the big Atlan turns to his beast form and claims her as his, on national television - intergalactic television! As much as she wishes he could claim her and take her away, it just can't be. She is the guardian for two small children and had been turned down as an intergalactic bride because of it. Besides, she is not model thin and beautiful like his other two choices. If that wasn't enough reason - she has a dark secret she is hiding from everyone. One that would guarantee that the hot, brave warrior should want no part of her.

Loved it. Can't wait to read more of the series. Enjoy.

The interaction between the huge alien and the two toddlers was so sweet. I appreciate having a well rounded woman for the female lead character. Fluffy women need love, too. Great job. -OMG, I've read all kinds of smut, erotica, or just steamy novels but this one, this one got me on the edge of my seat just by Wulf saying what he wanted to do to Olivia - he hadn't even started yet!
-And how about how Olivia responded from a poster? I wanted the sundae too!
-I love the fact that the beast comes out to mate too. This is a first for me and I always wondered why shifter didn't do this too. It's an amazing duo.
-I've never understood why people think that just because they are friends that they could get all the details of a couple's bedroom action. It's their story not yours. MYOB.

When I first started reading this book I very nearly put it down and gave up on it because, at the beginning of the book, there seemed to be a lot of gratuitous swearing with the "f" word used multiple times. However, I decided to persevere and I was glad I did as the story developed into one that became very interesting and enjoyable. It was also fascinating to read what an alien's take on Earth's customs might be!
