    Being a senior and having worked with seniors, I see the difference in those who stay active and take care of their bodies, and those who don't. It makes a huge difference. It's so tempting to think, yeah, I'm a senior now, I deserve to take it easy. That may be true, but as they say, "motion is lotion." The more active you stay, the better you'll feel (of course, as the author says, you should work closely with your health care provider to see what's best for you).
    This book has lots of great advice on taking care of our aging bodies so we can maintain energy and flexibility to be able to do those things we still want to do. The stretching and nutritional advice is solid and easy to understand. The stretches are illustrated and explained in a way that is easy to follow. And some of them just plain feel good, aside from the ongoing benefits of doing them regularly. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who wants help in being able to thrive and enjoy their senior years as much as possible.

    Having reached the age where stretching is now an important part of my morning ritual, I was excited to come across this book. Everything used to come so easy but now that I have more creaks and groans than ever, I took this book to heart right away. The book is well-organized, well-written, easy to follow, and—as a bonus for seniors—in large print. All the basics are here but it includes an especially nice 30-day plan that I recommend.

    The author clearly lays out the benefits of stretching, so many! We get a very strong here’s why! There are not extra words for no reason, very concise and a quick read. I teach fitness classes for older adults and I am recommending they all pick up a copy and learn why we do stretching and prepare their own home program. I will pick up anything this author writes!

    I found the front part of the book repetitive and felt it was padded just to get the word count up. There was a sentence that was structured so strangely, I wondered if this had been auto translated from a different language. I was about to give up when I got the the illustrated exercise pages, which are very good. The drawings are clear as are the written instructions, which is unusual with exercise books. Each exercise has an explanation of the benefit which I appreciate. So my advice is in the title of this review.

    I got this for my mother so she could try to move and stretch some more, the pictures and the movements were clear and she was able to perform most of them and I am sure she will be able to do more with practice.

    The author includes an easy-to-follow list of the benefits of stretching, especially as we age. There’s a fully illustrated guide demonstrating stretches via both illustrations and descriptions.     Some of the exercises seem simple but they are very important stretches for the body. The stretches get your blood pumping. Be sure to do them slow and steady for maximum effect. A few are floor stretches but if you can't get on the floor just do the standing and seated exercises. My favorite part is the 30 day exercise chart found at the end of the book.

    This book is well written and explains why stretching is so important. It then goes into many different easy-to-do stretches step-by-step, including which muscle groups benefit from each stress. The instructions are clear, but in case you don't quite understand the directions, they are accompanied by a diagram. Then, on top of all that, the author includes a day-by-day list of which stretches (and number of repetitions) to do for a whole month. This results in not having to spend hours exercising, it takes away the guesswork, and ensures you don't overwork any particular set of muscles. This means less pain and more gain (muscle strength).

    I like the way this book is laid out, and will be incorporating these stretches into my daily routine.

    I recommend this book for seniors, or anyone who is dealing with decreased mobility due to inactivity, accident or illness. Start slow and regain your strength and resilience.
