The primary purpose of this Bible study journal is to nurture your children's relationship with God and to introduce them to the teachings of Jesus. Each week, encourage your children to explore a carefully selected scripture following the S.O.A.P. Method.
What is S.O.A.P.?
Scripture: there is a selected scripture for each week that your child will read.
(It is encouraged that they read the chapter where the scripture comes from for context example: Scripture selection is Proverbs 22:6 NKJV they should read Proverbs 22 completely)
Observation: What do you think God is saying to you in this Scripture? What do you think it means? This is where your child will write a thoughtful reflection of the scripture.
Application: How can you apply this scripture to your life? This is where your child will write how the scripture can be applied. This helps to connect biblical teachings and real-life experiences.
Prayer: This final step is where your child can create a personalized prayer based on the scripture.
Implementation:
To make the most of this journal, it's recommended to incorporate it into their weekly routine. Starting the week with a scripture study allows your child to carry the teachings with them each day.
Benefits:
Bedtime Routine Transformation: The prayers that your child creates each week can now be their prayer before bed. Your child will learn to communicate with God in a meaningful way, expressing gratitude, seeking guidance, and building a habit of prayer.
Consistency and Growth: Weekly engagement with the Word of God, helps instill a sense of consistency in your child’s spiritual journey, fostering growth and understanding over time.
Love for the Word of God: Through this interactive and personal approach to studying the Bible, your child is likely to develop a genuine love for God's Word, recognizing it as a source of wisdom, comfort, and guidance.
In engaging in this S.O.A.P. Bible Study Journal, you are not only providing a valuable tool for spiritual development but also creating lasting memories and traditions that will shape your children's faith journey for years to come.
