Desires of a Deceiver brings together an unusual romance theme with a bit of suspense. I am not a typical fan of romance novels (or, I didn't think so), but this is not a typical romance tale. The young, unattractive female central character creates trouble when her lovely cousin comes to live with her. Read on! Well-written, I enjoyed the author's style. Five stars for making me like this genre!

I was thrown for a loop because the first part of the book is of Alana. It made me think this was about her until it shifted. Omg how Alana becomes so deranged because of the jealousy or envy of her cousin.

I love the personality and dialogue of Gitano! Part of me thought Iliamna end up with him but it was such a twist how the author brings all the pieces together!

Great character development and such a page turner until the end! And the end.. is emotional. I personally am not happy with it.

Other than the ending I enjoyed losing myself in this book for a day or two :)

Action, suspense, and romance all in one book, what more could you ask for? This book has excellent character development and a story that is filled with twists and turns that all keep you engaged and turning the pages. I loved the journey that this took me on, it was unexpected and kept me entertained throughout.

After I read this book I was pleased to see many other books by this author in which I plan to read.
I wasn't much into Romantic novels but after reading this one. I have to try another, I have my eye on Dreamer of Destiny. it has 53 reviews and worth a try.
Anyway I highly recommend this book 5 stars all day long

Overall, I'd say this book is a good read. It's well written and the suspense, tension, and action were so consistent I did not put it down and finished in a day. I thought the premise, which I went in not knowing, was very clever and characters likable- except, of course, the hateable ones. That being said, near the end I began to feel the action a bit strung out, as if it could have been a short story. I liked the conclusion of the story, but there was more after that is sad and although somewhat foreshadowed really came abruptly and for no reason other than to be sad, so bear that in mind.

In this story, you will meet a deceitful female character, Alana, who is ready to sell her own cousin for the sake of getting rich. Also, there is a strong, well-developed male character who impressed me throughout the story. 

The ending got me back to the sad events of the beginning of the 20th century, shifting my focus from the couple to the tragedy of human life.

Overall, it was a lovely, touching read that I enjoyed a lot!
