- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2017I gave it 3 stars for the enthusiasm the author has for the subject, but I don't really think it deserves 3. This book reads more like messy student's notes from a lecture on philosophy than a book. It's a good core but it needs organizing, and some editing before it can actually read smoothly and deliver the points and make a strong impact. Some reviewers made comments about it not being really about zen - it really isn't. What it should be titled is "things that could potentially make you happier according to me" - because the book is really personal and written in such a way that you have to put up with a lot of personal opinions of the writer, who does not reveal any particular expertise otherwise. Fortunately the book can be read as a chat with an enthusiastic friend whose head is bursting with ideas. You can listen but you don't have to apply everything.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2013I was very disappointed in this book. Although I got some good quotes, and the book does contain some good ideas, the writing quality is very poor, and it is difficult to follow. Maybe part of the difficulty is that I bought the Kindle version. It appeared that the author changed part-way through the book. I honestly could not tell if that was just for a small section or if the new author wrote the rest of the book. The book is apparently a collection of blog posts. That can work, but much more editing was needed for it to work here.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2014I bought this book based on the author's previous work , "The Power of Less." This ebook seems rushed--- almost as if it was a first draft. Disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bello, ma...
Il libro è semplice e piacevole da leggere e stimolante per le idee che suggerisce. Il problema sorge proprio qui: la maggioranza dei siti riportati nel testo non esistono più e dunque ci si ritrova con una pratica "monca"...

5.0 out of 5 stars Da paz
Es muy sencillo de leer y te transmite mucha paz, sobretodo la primera parte, que es la que releo de vez en cuando es la que interesa.
De la segunda parte ni me acuerdo

5.0 out of 5 stars Short book with simple yet impactful reminders for mindfulness, peace and life
A nice little book that I’m sure I’ll flip through again. AmAre is a good framework and reminder of areas to focus on in life. Would benefit from a bit more tactical things to implement with examples and the ones included are good.

1.0 out of 5 stars very zen in its scope and length
I find it very hard to recommend this. Anybody who googles the word 'zen' learns more than what you could possibly take away from this booklet. I'm not saying there isn't anything of value in it, but I think you are better off reading about the concept of zen for free on internet, perhaps on the author's blog. I feel slightly ashamed for ordering it... On the other hand, it does encourage me to write books, as it must be encouraging to any writer to see very low effort booklets like this meet with some success on internet...
