About the Author
Dennis Gilmour was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1991 with a B.Sc. in Pharmacy. He completed his first novel, The Unveiling, in 1995 but after unsuccessful attempts at getting it published, set it aside for several years and pursued other career interests. While working as a pharmacist with Shoppers Drug Mart, Dennis attended a computer training school. He graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1998 with a degree in computer programming. For the next three years, he worked as a programmer analyst at a high tech company called Zadall, which produced software solutions for the pharmacy sector. Along with hospitals, Zadall's customers included many big retail pharmacy chains such as Krogers and Eckerds in the United States, and Shoppers Drug Mart and The Real Canadian Superstore in Canada. In the summer of 2001, Dennis moved to the world class ski resort of Whistler, British Columbia to resume a renewed interest in retail pharmacy, and to partake of the pleasures of winter sports fun in the premiere ski paradise of North America. He is fascinated with both science and the supernatural and infuses all of his writing with exploration of the ancient mysteries of life: Who are we? Where did we come from? What is the meaning of life? The Unveiling is one fictional account of the answers to these very questions.Dennis currently resides in the northern Alberta community of Slave Lake, and works for a Supermarket and Drugstore chain. He enjoys reading in his spare time and working on writing the next sci-fi bestseller.

Ultimately, this book is one person's attempt at explaining how all of the scientific evidence for evolution could fit into a Christian belief system. Oi. Not exactly what I intended to read, but I'm the type of person that likes to see a book through to the end and finish what I started. Really not sure if this one was worth it.
Although this book is fiction, I read it with fascination, as if it were all happening right now in real life. To me, it was very believable, as I think there is something to the UFO/alien thing. Too many credible witnesses have seen UFOs and been affected by them, too many anomalous radar contacts in the skies, physical evidence left behind etc... that it can all be written off as nonsense. But this is the first book I've ever read that gives a credible explanation as to what these mysterious "aliens" have been doing with mankind for so long. The book was well written and fascinating and absorbing, a real page turner. I couldn't put it down until the final page. The ending wrapped things up nicely and gave a mind blowing (and believable) answer to the Biblical mystery of why an all powerful God would allow the devil and his demons such carte blanche with humans for thousands of years. I walked away awed at a presentation of the love of God in a way no Christian writer has ever done before. I highly recommend it to everyone.
He finds his life taking a series of surprise turns that makes him the last hope for mankind in its struggle for self-preservation. As the tale unfolds, the reader also begins to identify with Jeff's struggle against his fears and doubts. The protagonist's struggle becomes synonymous with the devout soul's desire for attaining redemption from the world of sin and suffering.
In this debut novel, the author combines the elements of science fiction and a thriller in order to make the work a highly interesting read. The novel is sure to be an instant success with its focus on the present world situation and its attempt to look beyond the problems for a panacea.
This book is a critical take on the contemporary age and its frenzy to attain greater power by any means. The questions of life and beyond along with other mysteries of life are subtly raised and in its own way, this book tries to find an answer to them.
One critique I have with the Novelette is that the gifts of the Spirit that the main characters recieve are super-hero in nature and therefor not believeable. However this too also makes it more interesting than other Christian Books.
Hats off! I'll be searching to find a book as thrilling as this one!
