USA Today best-selling author Allie Boniface was born and raised in a tiny community in upstate New York, which probably explains her fascination with the magic of small town life. She earned her B.A. in English from the University of Rochester in New York and a M.A. in English Literature from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Since 1997, she has enjoyed life in the northern NYC suburbs, where she lives with her husband and teaches English and Education to high school students. In her spare time, she and her husband love to travel. She is also a runner, a musician and an animal-lover.

Allie writes contemporary romance series set in small towns (with lots of secrets and spice!). She reads in all genres and loves chatting with other readers and writers about any topic under the sun. You can find her around the Web, at writers' conferences, giving workshops, swapping stories, and generally chatting about romance writing.

I liked the two moving in apartments due to independent attitude but still they are loving their parents. Think. Understand. No one is perfect. We have too much intolerance by young adult children. It was better when 3 generations lived together. And no telling how many cooking tips or helpful babysitting or life lessons the easy way anyone can learn. Sitting down to eat together is a fine tradition. Family is important. You never know how your life can change. Choices make a big difference! Love is very important!

I like this authors writing style. In all the books/stories there are some sex scenes that are well written, but they are not many pages or many such scenes per book. They support the story rather than dominating it. Drake Isle is an interesting study of wealth and power of major city CEOs … and the power of a small island community to support their own. Skipping a Beat (Docs of Silver Valley) Is a short story. From past accident, he became a paramedic. She is a doc with her own issues. He doesn’t know she is a doc. Only that she is new in town and they are both pool sharks. This is either a short story or an intro to a longer story. Book 3: Second Chance Summer (whispering pines) Opens with a girl returning to her small town cause her dad who sent her away when her brother died in a car accident she was in and never sees her again has now left her a house that is mid-summer-reno. One of the renovators has a mom and sister he is hiding from abusive dad. Very engaging; clever little sister. The Promise of Paradise deals with a daughter of a potential VP candidate escaping the brouhaha of scandal by subletting a place in a small town and getting a waitress job and falling for her co-sub-leter. Not credible, but enjoyable.

Even though the novels seemed short lived they were all excellent.
Would like to read the next books in the series for each of them!

I didn’t realize that these were short novels and sometimes you didn’t get to read how some of them turned out. Stories were good but I’d like to know what ended up happening between Gabe and Jordyn.

Interesting collection of stories. However, I just didn't connect with the writing so I skimmed each of them. I particularly didn't like the first one, but the other three were better. Even so, I didn't fully read them.

The first story, Tilly, Blake, Emmy turned me off almost immediately. Seemed to be a story of a corporate giant wanting to con an old lady out of her property. I really hate that kind of mentality. So I jumped to the second story. Skipping a Beat - Gabe and Jordyn. It had moderate interest, enough to keep me reading, but was basically boring. Then suddenly! Right at the time the story actually starts to get a bit interesting, it stops with a "love it? go buy the book and see how it ends garbage. Not gonna happen. I was furious. No where did I read that "some of the stories" were going to be itty bitty "first peek" and frankly, the story wasn't interesting enough that I'd bother to go get it. So that killed the whole book for me. Despite seeing that there MIGHT be two more books in the box set, I don't trust the author any more. Won't be buying anything by her, not now, or in the future. For an author to pull stunts like that - she's lost my trust.

Can't these writers get a decent editor?

The short stories were pretty good at first and then I Started to notice, that each story was almost identical to the last. Words slightly different, but storyline, so similar. Kind of ruined the following stories because I knew what was going to be next. Read them all anyway.
