Cleans well, pleasant non-chemical scent

Sometimes when you purchase “natural” cleaning supplies, they just don’t work as well. I haven’t found that to be the case with this toilet bowl cleaner. Seems to clean well and smells nice, a very subtle evergreen tree smell. It’s not colored (it’s a clear thick liquid), which I love, so no chance of staining the inside of the bowl with blue dye. But the nice thing is, it does leave a sort of soapy/suddsy bubbles inside the bowl, so people can clearly tell that you have actually cleaned the toilet. Which is important for me since I use this to clean my Airbnb rental. The only warning is that when I received my case, one bottle had a broken top squirter….the top hand been banged down and cracked. So some leaked out into the box and onto some of the other bottles. Luckily it wasn’t too bad and it was still usable. This is just the risk you take when purchasing anything liquid through the mail. I wish the bottles had been packaged individually in plastic bags, that would have helped a bit.

I prefer to use much gentler, safer products, hopefully made in the USA - the seventh generation toilet bowl cleaner does a great job, perfect for average toilet bowl cleaning. In some areas where you have bad rust type stains from the water, you may need something more caustic and aggressive - but I greatly prefer NOT using really nasty substances if they are not necessary.

Since it's better not only for the environment, but also ourselves, I try to use natural cleaning products when I can. I haven't always had the best of luck, but I've been using Seventh Generation's toiler bowl cleaner for about a year now with great results.

The cleaner has a pleasant, but very light, pine scent. It is a clear liquid, and is a bit watery compared to some toilet bowl cleaners, so it doesn't cling to the insides of the bowl as much. Plus, since it's clear, you can't really tell how much cleaner is in there.

I find I get the best results when I add the cleaner to a bowl that I just flushed and refilled (so the sides of the bowl are wet), run the cleaner around the inside lip, and then let it sit in the bowl for a while with the toilet brush plugging up the hole on the bottom. After it Then I just scrub the bowl with the brush and flush. I don't have to use too much elbow grease this way, and the toilets always come out clean. We have very mineral rich water where I live, and my toilets are almost 30 years old, so I have a light pink line that runs around the waterline inside the bowl that this Seventh Generation cleaner cannot remove, however.

All in all... if you're going green, it doesn't get much better for your bowls.

I generally like this company's cleaning products. I am disappointed with this toilet bowl cleaning product.
The product works for cleaning but requires a lot more fluid that other cleaners. While a another toilet cleaner will last me several months, this one was empty within 2-3 week.

Issues:
- This is a very thin liquid compared some of the clinging toilet cleaners and it seems to just immediately drop into the bottom of the bowl instead of clinging to the sides where it was applied.
- The liquid is clear to white-ish so you can't actually see how much is on your toilet bowl or where it is.
- because of the 2 prior issues I find myself going through a bottle of this very quickly. Maybe 10-15 bowl cleanings from an entire bottle compared to over a 100 bowl cleans with a blue cling cleaner.
- this makes the cost per cleaning extremely high even if the cost per bottle is closer in price to other cleaners.

I will not repurchase until they resolve these issues.
