Community Corner Food Pantry Wish List
At the New Albany Central location of the Floyd County Library we have created the Community Corner Food Pantry that was established in 2021, that supports those needing food assistance. We offer two different ways to access food through the pantry and that is in a weekly amount of food and a day's worth of food. We have seen a significant increase in our pantry usage. For example, for the month of November in 2022 we distributed 142 day bags, and in August 2023 we distributed 455 day bags. The Library's mission is "to support the growth and creativity of an engaged, informed, and connected community" and by meeting our community members nutritional needs we are engaging them and hopefully creating that positive library experience that we hope all community members experience when they come to the library, regardless of age, race, income or ability. Are you interested in helping the Community Corner Food Pantry? Donations are always welcome, and are always appreciated by the Library staff and by the community members that come to the pantry.
