About the Author

Rachel Carlton Abrams, MD, graduated from Stanford University and received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and a master's degree in holistic health and medical sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. She is board-certified in family medicine and integrative and holistic medicine, and she has been a board member of the American Holistic Medical Association since 2013. She currently chairs committees for the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. Dr. Abrams lives in Santa Cruz, California, with her family.

Vanessa Daniels has worked as a professional actress in theater, film, TV, commercials, and voice-over for almost two decades. She holds a BFA in drama from New York University and is a member of SAG-AFTRA and the Actors' Equity Association.

Very informative book that inspires you to pay attention to your body and get as healthy as you an. I am following the diet plan and I like that it's not totally extreme. It's a lot of common sense backed up by medical wisdom. Some of the supplements she recommends for various issues are helping me as well.

I love this book! It provides a wealth of information on health issues ranging from Allergies to Zoloft and lots in between! It’s filled with practical guidelines, many of which I had not heard before (and I try to stay current with these things!). Great book! Dr. Abrams really opened my eyes to the importance of listening to our bodies. So often they are telling us when something isn't right, but we are too used to powering through and ignoring what they are saying. The information here is straightforward, explaining things about health in a way that makes sense and left me feeling empowered. The book left me ready to turn over a new leaf - feeling energetic, healthy and balanced for the New Year!

The book doesn't get to the point fast enough to hold the attention of anyone whose IQ is higher than 47. I was waiting for the pithy parts that would help me understand & only wasted time with the blubbering of someone trying to stretch out their data so thin you wonder why the hell this was written. Waste of my $. If you have a choice between buying this book & a corn dog. Buy the corn dog.

Maybe the Finest Book on Health

Perhaps the finest writing (and perspective) to come from an MD. Normally, members of the AMA (and I presume that Dr Abrams is a member of the AMA) are *behind the curve* when it comes to understanding what makes us unwell, but I believe Dr Abrams is leading us toward a far more *accurate* perspective of health and *Dis_Ease*.
