(Cases for Kids) Public Wish list
When children are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment they often leave with very little or no personal items. Many times our children carry a few items in a garbage bag or pillow case to their new, temporary home. These children are scared, lonely and often feel like they don't matter. Many do not even own a toothbrush or have a pair of pajamas, much less, a suitcase to carry their belongings. Cases for Kids will provide a special rolling duffle bag that the kids can call their very own. We will fill the bags with age-appropriate necessities and comfort items. We believe that every child deserves to feel a sense of dignity. Every child deserves to pack their belongings in a special bag that they can call their very own. Cases for Kids will send the message to children that they are safe, their needs are met and we hope it will provide a bit of comfort in their first few days in foster care. Over nine hundred children in the First Judicial Circuit (Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties) come into the Guardian ad Litem Program each year. To provide a suitcase, filled with items such as toiletries, undergarments, socks, a book or journal, back pack, school supplies, a teddy bear and other necessities - is a costly endeavor. However, we hope to send a message to our children that they are safe and that someone cares about them, which we believe is priceless. Look at me Camp for Kids Supports children in the Guardian ad Litem program by providing the cost of summer camp, an experience that many would never have without your help. These kids deserve to have fun and make new friends. sponsoring a child for camp tells them , You are just like other kids and someone wants you to have fun!
