Re engineered with end user feedback our new Covert Khaki Pant offers 5.11 innovation packaged in a great fitting casual pant ideal for undercover or plain clothes detail. The Covert Khaki 2.0 pant features six pockets; two traditional front pockets, two standard rear pockets with button closure and two concealed vertical thigh pockets with zip closure hidden on the side seam. Made with a midweight 7.25 ounces. wrinkle and fade resistant poly cotton twill and treated with Teflon, the Covert Khaki is soil and stain resistant and comes out of the washer and dryer ready to wear. Permanent creases and flat front styling ensure a clean, professional look for any plain clothes requirements. 5 minutes after putting on my brand new pants I had dog hair and everything else sticking to them. Not impressed by these 5.11’s whatsoever. The Ridgeline and Under Armour covert Storm pants are much, much better. Nothing sticks to them and are more water resistant.By far my least favorite 5.11’s I have purchased

    I love these pants! I work as a server and I need to wear dress pants but I walk around 10,000 steps a shift so I needed something more durable than the dress pants I would get for around 30 dollars from cheap department stores. When these came in the mail I could tell right away they are made of quality materials. I tried them on (I got the 36X30) and they fit very comfortably. Even though I was a bit pudgier than a 36 at the time of purchase the pants were still very comfortable and forgiving with the elastic stretch waistband. The material is cooling and has some flight flex to it. It looks somewhere between dress pants and dockers. They do collect lint but no more than my other dress pants. Now moving on to my favorite feature; the pockets. The pockets are large and strong and very well stitched. I pocket carry a bodyguard 380 in a desantis nemesis holster in the front pocket and it has been very comfortable. I wear an apron do I don't print but even with the apron off you can't tell. At work I carry my money for the shift in my back pocket and it varies from 30 to 500 dollars. I feel much more at ease knowing how strong the pocket is. The cargo pockets are a bit narrow but I just put my car keys in one side. I did fit a bodyguard 380 in the cargo but with no holster. zippers are discreet and work well. They zip up to close and it can slide the pant leg up if you don't use your spare hand or your opposite foot to hold the pant leg down while zipping. Overall I would highly recommend these pants. I will be purchasing more for myself and for friends as gifts.

    Whereas I can't speak to the quality of these vs. the original, as this is the only pair I have, I can say these are great freaking pants for a professional that needs a business look, but wants the storage features of a cargo pant. I've looked and looked for a discreet cargo, and these are the only ones I have found. aside from the tiny metal zipper pull on there is no way to see the cargo pockets when closed. They zip up with the seam so there are no thread lines or flaps to give them away. I hate the bulky expanding cargo pockets that you usually get with most cargo shorts and pants. These have the look and feel of a nice pair of dress slacks, albeit more heavy duty than most standard dress slacks with the versatility of the extra 2 pockets on the sides. The button pockets without flaps on the back also help maintain the professional look. I have a big ass, and when I put my wallet and phone in my front or rear pocket of standard dress pants, the pockets bulge out.... not a clean look. These fit true to size, I am a 36x34, but just in case.... the discreet expanding waist is a nice subtle touch. I'm buying another pair right now.

    I wear these pants every day at work and so far (two months) they have held up marvelously. They are certainly dressy enough for anything short of a wedding. They hold up in almost any environment that I have put them through, rain, wind, snow etc. The side leg pockets aren't exactly large but then again what exactly did you expect? They've held up with no signs of wearing out and I haven't exactly be kind to them. The only mark against these is that they pick up every piece of lint or dust but it is easy enough to clean or brush/roll off. 5.11 once again has done it. These are better than the previous generation although these feel a little thinner they are the perfect all around weight. They don't bunch up but also don't appear baggy either. Other 5.11 pants have had an issue with fading...so far these haven't although it is something to keep in mind. Be careful how you wash them and they will take care of you.

    These are well made. I like the covert zippered pockets that open along the side seam and fill toward the back. Then the bulge in is toward the back and the front remains smooth and flat. So, they look like nice office pants. The material is medium-heavy and might be too warm for outdoors in the summer. The waist size is slightly larger (may 0.5 inches) than usual, which might be good if you use IWB carry.

    Had these for a year now, and despite often wearing them 5 or 6 nights a week, and washing them frequently, they are still as good as new!! I have these and the tac-lite cargo style, and they are both equally hard wearing, comfortable, and smart. I work in security, and have previously gone through so many pairs of trousers due to seams splitting, holes in the knees, pockets wearing through etc etc. These are, in my view, the ultimate trousers for durability, comfort and looking smart (the covert trousers look smart enough to wear with shirt and tie when required).
    I would strongly recommend anyone to spend the bit extra on these, rather than buying cheaper, inferior types which need replacing every couple of months . . . I'll update in another year!!
