    Alice is 51 and a hard working solicitor in her and her business partner Miranda's law office. When Mianda talks Alice to vacation in her home in Portugal. Then Joy, Miranda's 29 yr old daughter comes for a mini 5 day vacation. Joy who doesn't wear a top when swimming or sunbathing.
    Eventually they become lovers. Will it last when they're both in the "real" world, how will Miranda handle their relationship? Is their love strong enough? 5 stars!

    Finished it in a day! One of my better reads this year, the atmosphere and tension were just so well done. Once the protagonists got together, I was pretty surprised to see how early into the book I was- it felt like the sexual tension was building for much longer than it was, which is just how I like it. Realistic discussion of the consequences of the relationship, stays sympathetic to everyone involved, doesn't really make a "bad guy" out of anyone. I did have one issue that knocked it down a bit for me- the conversation about men not being able to do monogamy struck me as a bit strange. Not that I expect a lesbian romance novel to only have good things to say about men, it was just a bit out of place. Felt like an odd stance to take and the suddenness/confusion took me out of the story a bit. Otherwise, this was an almost perfect fun read with just enough angst to keep it interesting without making you cry. I plan to check out more from the author!

    After years of all work/no fun lifestyle, Alice agreed to take 2 weeks off at Miranda’s vacation house. Miranda and Alice have been best friends for over 30 years and had become business partners.     For a hardcore romantic like me, Harper Bliss did it again. She was able to create another charming, romantic and spicy story that kept me captive from beginning to end. A story toned by so many elements and emotions, that even the simplest character will bring an important perspective to the “big picture”. In my personal opining, the relationship between Alice and Joy represents- perfectly- how love should be: unexpected, passionate, unyielding, open minded, heartfelt, forthcoming, welcomed, spirited, respectful, and willing to confront and overcome conflict.

    After reading this beautiful story twice, in just two weeks, if anybody asks me, I will say it is worth reading!

    I agree with the author, this is her best book ever. The plot has many facets to it. Her previous books have had a somewhat start to finish plot with no complications for the characters. This book has some interesting complications for the characters to overcome.
    The main character is a middle aged solicitor who is in a partnership with her best friend. She is a workaholic who hardly ever takes any time off. Her partner makes her take two weeks vacation in a house that she owns in Portugal. She gets to the condo and is barely settled in, when her partner calls her to ask if it's OK for her daughter to spend a week at the house. She says she knows it's an imposition on her, but her daughter needs to relax before starting her new new job. So the partner agrees and the daughter shows up.
    At first she is put off by the rather brash behavior of the young lady, but soon finds herself falling in love with the younger woman. When it comes time for the young woman to leave, the older woman begins to have doubts about the relationship. What if this is just a middle aged crisis? What are we going to do once we both are back in London seeing as how the younger woman's mother is my best friend and business partner? Things eventually work out for the couple, but with a lot of stress along the way.

    I've already read many a books of Harper Bliss. Seasons of Love is an absolute masterpiece. This emotional rollercoaster ride, these real, believable struggles - it's just perfect. A book that I read straight through, a book I can't put down.

    It starts with a shared love of music. Joy and Alice go on their first trips together. With the help of plenty of wine, they get to know each other for the first time and have a more open conversation about failed relationships and personal circumstances.

    The first kiss, intense sex and love scenes, hot eroticism graphically, aesthetically and captivatingly portrayed. A masterpiece.

    Then the slow coming out, first in the restaurant, then hand in hand for the first time in the neighborhood and later in Joy's circle of friends.

    But then the story becomes dramatic, emotional and very, very exciting. Full on drama! Then there is the potentially threatening diagnosis. Again and again I have to wipe away tears!

    Harper Bliss knows how to create love drama! Just great and impressive how complex this storyline is designed. Standing ovation!
