    Everything inside this collection is worth reading. Hilbert has a unique voice that will ensure readers will either follow him for eternity or not get his art at all. Hilbert's like the Mike Patton of his ilk. Inside the collection there is a diverse bunch of stories, all bound by Hilbert's oddly frank but perplexing narrative style. They guy takes ordinary everyday scenes and injects something completely bizarre into it, then defies expectations as to where that will lead. And all of it done with an understated humor. "The Motel Painting" is a great example, and "WINKY" is even better. Hell, all of them are. It's a fast read, it's a damn good read, and it's available right now. Score it.
