Sarah Smile: Halos & Horns: Book Two Kindle Edition
Dr. Tanner Collins is running from his own sordid past. The man has left a trail of women from one end of Louisiana to the other, and through half the state of Texas. Even when this bad boy tries to be good, he has women throwing themselves at him at all hours of the day and night. When his admiration for Sarah turn into something stronger, he keeps his feelings in check, knowing he’ll never be near the kind of man she deserves.
When Tanner rushes to Houston to be with his parents during his father’s illness, he’s forced to deal with hidden resentments toward his upper crust parents. At some point he accepts the fact that situations aren’t always as obvious as they seem on the surface.
Note from the author:
The Halos and Horns series is filled with new characters you’ll love, along with frequent appearances of old favorites from my La Fleur de Love series. Enjoy!

About the author

Award winning author, Lori Leger, adores writing stories set in southwest Louisiana, where good Cajun cooking, helping your neighbors, and saying ‘y’all’ is as normal as hurricanes, heat, and humidity. She has fourteen full-length novels, and five short stories published in four series: La Fleur de Love, its spin-off, Halos & Horns, Seasons of Love, Prime of Love series, one stand-alone Christmas suspense published with The Wild Rose Press, and two more in production and if God is willing, more to come.
She’s contributed to the Sweet & Savory Cookbook of Amazon Authors, published by Top Ten Press. Lori also has an article published in the non-fiction book Writing After Retirement: Tips From Retired Writers, published by Rowman and Littlefield Publishers, and edited and compiled by Carol Smallwood and Christine Redman-Waldeyer.
Her fourth novel in the Halos & Horns series, “One Year to Forever” won 2015 Romance Novel of Excellence award from InD’tale Review magazine.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2013I enjoyed this book just as much as Lori Leger's other published work ... and I've read them all! She has a gift for developing new characters, giving you a more detailed insight into the main characters, blending that with glimpses of characters from her other books and molding them into an enjoyable novel. Although this book is part of a series, the characters and storyline stand well on their own. If you haven't read her work, it is worth the time and modest cost and will likely make you want to read more. I was first introduced to Lori's writing from a free amazon.com download and enjoyed it so much I purchased the others and will be looking forward to her next release.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2013An enjoyable and entertaining read. It's well plotted, has a smooth pace and characters with fully developed personalities. I liked it and will be reading more of this series. Meagan's Marine is next.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2013I don't give a five star very often but I enjoyed this book. I didn't read one first so I feel like I missed out but book two didn't keep me in the dark. I felt like I got to know the characters well enough. There was no side story going on like murder or some other mystery just a love story and other characters were introduced. I have book three downloaded and starting it now and it picks up where two left off. I like the authors style of writing.
Book one probably is the best of the three, usually is in a series but I don't back read.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2014Sarah Smile was written like a Christian book, even though I don't think it is. It has that feel good, super innocent everything is magical thing that Christian romances have. I don't know if that makes sense, but that is how it felt to me, and if you have read Christian romances before maybe you know what I am talking about. I kept expecting the God talk to come out, but it never really did.
This is the first book I have read by this author so I wasn't already familiar with the characters. I don't think that mattered much as you got to know them in this story. Maybe they had more of a back story in a different series, but it was fine.
The story itself was simple and it was a quick read. I still enjoyed it. Sarah and Tanner obviously like each other, but Tanner doesn't think he is good enough for her. They keep getting thrown together at different times, and once Sarah finally tries to do something about it her brother comes and messes everything up. I didn't really like that as I thought come on Sarah, you are not even going to see what he has to say for himself? You are just going to go with what your brother saw and call it good? Really? I thought you were better than that. I thought you would at least have heard him out. And even if what you thought happened had happened, well so? It is not like you were dating or anything. But of course everything magically works out with everyone involved. Tanner has a rocky relationship with his parents? Fixed. The misunderstanding? Fixed. Everything fixed. Happy ending all around.
Overall this was a quick, light read. Fun, but nothing too amazing. Still enjoyable.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2013I knew from the day we were introduced to Dr. Tanner there was something about him... This book was another fantastic read by Lori Leger, she has a writing style in which I can always picture myself right there in the story.. GREAT READ as a stand alone much better if read in order of her books.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2013I always love Lori's style of storytelling. I've read every book she's written and she breathes life into each character. As a long time country music lover I really enjoy how Lori uses song titles and entertainers as inspiration and woven in her plots and stories. Sarah Smile by Jimmy Wayne is a perfect song to wrap a story around. The description on page 124 of the DJ playing Trace Adkins tribute to marines, "Semper Fi" made me cry(He is a favorite singer of mine) While reading any of Lori's books I feel I KNOW the people and share their lives with them. I like that each book is a separate story but how each one contains a circle of friends I'd love to spend time with. Only bad part is when I close the back cover of a book always waiting to see what happens next. Thank you Lori for another beautiful story.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2016Sarah is finally safe and can raise her twin daughters without looking over her shoulder. Tanner is a playboy, but can't seem to get Sarah out of his head. Will the two of them get together? Sarah's brother, Mitch - a Marine, comes back for a visit. He wants to make sure that she doesn't get hurt again. He couldn't be there for her when she was married to her loser husband and wants to be there as much as possible to look out for her now.
I liked this book and would recommend the whole series to anyone!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2013I love that Tanner is starting to see what is important in life! Sarah and the girls have changed so many people's lives and she has come a long way! These stories make you realize no matter how bad things get in your life, things can change and will get better! :) I love these books! :) NEVER give up hope!
