An absolute fantastic read! At it's heart, Wright has endearing characters and beautifully visualized worlds. The story kept me page turning through gate-wrighting, danger and romance while still being grounded with realistic dialogue and action.
This book wraps up the adventure nicely and leaves you eager, at the same time, to see what is coming next.

A million light years from home and thousands of years into the future, the Founders establish a technology-free society on the world they named Iskendar.
Ten thousand years since the Founders arrival, Hypatia Theon, known by the world as The Catalogue for her precise and near perfect memory, readies herself for inauguration as Assistant to the Great Librarian.
In the darkness of the library Hypatia meets Jet, a stranger to Iskendar. He tells her he can slip between the worlds of humanity’s future by creating gates from the words of humanity’s ancient past.
Hypatia is torn by new possibilities and new choices. Should she settle into a life’s path that is influential, comfortable and certain or will the attraction of adventure, of a beautiful stranger, and facing a danger beyond logic win her heart?

Saw this new book from a new author and decided to give it a try. An interesting read and mysterious world filled with a believable and well thought out culture/society. The combination of advanced tech and tech wary minimalist lifestyles made a good contrast and left me wanting to more. Overall a good book from a first time author and I hope they keep writing and I have the opportunity to revisit the universe and characters they've created.

I will preface this by saying I'm a casual reader.. I need a book to grab me, and put me in the spot where it feels like I'm not really reading, but having the story play out in my head without realizing. Wright is able to do that within the first few pages, and keeps you there until the finish.
The characters fit the world you're thrown into and the story develops those characters into friends. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I hope to continue when the next installments are released.
