I'm still waiting to see how long these four Super LEDs last compared to the other model with 48 Standard LEDs.
**With this type of Illuminator, if fully exposed to rain, be sure the metal casing is fully screwed together, the front lens ring is fully screwed in and the wire entry nipple is fully screwed in to avoid moisture leakage.
Cannot really speak to its reliability -- will update here as it proves out.

First thing to point out is that these lamps are quite small, probably only about 6cm in diameter (slightly narrower than a standard can of Coke). The cable is also quite short at about 60cm (although I didn't actually measure it) so it is unlikely to reach through the average double skinned brick wall on a house.
Strictly speaking I think these lamps should be described as 'Near Infrared' as there is some visible light in the form of a faint red glow. This isn't a problem for me but I know some users like their CCTV systems to be completely covert.
The light produced by the Univivi U03R is reasonably powerful, probably brighter than the light generated by the internal LEDs on most CCTV cameras but it is tightly focused, rather like a torch. This means that for short distances (say less than 5m), the light does not spread enough for most modern wide-angle CCTV cameras. I would say this light is probably better suited to applications requiring a range of 20m or so.
The unit is light sensitive so that it does not operate during daylight. Don't forget that these lights are supplied without a power supply so you will need to get one. I measured the power consumption at 5W meaning that if you are using a 12V power supply then it will need to be able to deliver a current of at least 400mA (0.4A).
Overall, I quite liked the Univivi U03R and it is better suited to longer distances than its 48 LED counterparts. However, it is also about 50% more expensive so for short range CCTV, I still prefer the 48 LED lamps
I fitted this on 1 side of my house to try get some sort of a viewable image at night as the camera installed there is long overdue an upgrade, (Vivotek 720p bullet) that was never great in the dark.
I've attached a few images, the first is the side with an external porch light on, the second is the light off but the cameras internal led on, the third is with this product installed and on and the forth with the external porch light on also.
I'm very happy with the improvement and will suffice until I upgrade the camera. I'll wait and see if I'll need to continue using this when I do.
