To be fair, I didn't pay much for this but seroiusly, it could be so much better. I'm going to keep it and fix it by sharpening the curved blade so it actually cuts (are you listening Norpro?), and I will remove the nails holding it together so I can put a very small stainless washer under the metal part and secure it with screws instead. This will allow the corn crud to flush out or get picked out with a toothpick. I will treat the wood with cooking oil so it's waterproof. When done it will work fine, but I shouldn't have to go to these lengths to fix this thing.
