- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2012This book is incredible. I have read a number of books around brain function and learning how to increase productivity and work smarter, but Train Your Brain For Success is hands down one of the best! With most books, if I can find one or two useful tools in the book I consider it a good purchase, but this book is packed with not only great ideas, but clear instructions on how to implement them.
The book is laid out in two sections. The first is targeted at improving your memory and reading capabilities. Within 30 minutes of beginning this book and starting the exercises you will actually see your brain begin to change. Just the new tools presented for remembering things are worth the investment of the book. The second part of the book is centered around changing how you run your life. It includes information on how to set better goals, use your time more effectively, and a host of other great items. One of my favorite parts is planning your day around accomplishing only 6 key things. It was amazing to me how much clarity this provided.
What I love most about the book is that you can pick it up, choose any section you want, and improve yourself with just that section. Or you can work on multiple areas at a time to learn more. This book is like taking an entire course on the subject. However, I would offer the reader one piece of advice. Read the book in several sittings, allowing yourself to truly digest the information in order to implement it in your daily life. If read all at once the book can be overwhelming because of the amount of information.
It is rare that I find a book that truly exceeds my expectations, but Train Your Brain For Success definitely does!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2012**Disclosure - I work with Roger Seip as a colleague and may have been the inspiration for the "furrowed brow" line in the Intro**
Business relationship with Roger aside, this book is a must-read. Anyone looking for that "little bit more" out of business, life, relationships, ANYTHING will take something away from spending time with this book. You don;t have to be 100% better at anything to get 100% better results. That is a HUGE takeaway. Roger's 15+ years of experience teaching the lessons he shares in this book are absolute validation that it works. The beauty is that it is so clearly written by Roger, not some editing staff. The words flow conversationally, and the built-in exercises ensure that what you read will stay in your brain for the long haul.
The only question in your mind should be whether or not you can wait 2 days for it to show up at your door. I'd recommend overnight shipping. It's THAT good.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2016This book has really helped me improve my career and personal life. I'm more deliberate with my day than ever before, accomplishing more than I ever expected. The reason I only gave it four stars is because there are a few odd section on speed reading that I don't think really tie in with the rest of the book but overall it's a really powerful read!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2013I intended to whiz through Roger Seip's book very quickly. But Train Your Brain For Success was too good for a glib skim. I wanted to absorb this book - not only the exercises, but the FEELINGS I received while reading it.
Roger begins with some memory and speed reading exercises (some of which I knew) then quickly gets into the real meat of this book with power exercises that will cause permanent change.
I loved the quadrant exercise - I hadn't heard this before - and the Power Hour. But it's the Two Hour Solution that truly grabbed my attention. I intend to practice this regularly, and I intend to get the life I want.
I suggest you do too. Buy this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2013The author presented reasoning for and skills to improve your recall and comprehension, maintaining a positive attitude, and boosting your efficiency for working. This book also provide other reference sources that can enrich your tool box for success. As a starting biologist, I found this book helpful to guide me through a day and lead me to what I want to accomplish. Certainly the field for scientific research is quite different than many jobs, but the principles and methods in this book can serve as a good framework to aid building a path that leads to success.

5.0 out of 5 stars Train Your Brain For Success
I read Roger Seip's Train Your Brain For Success: Read Smarter, Remember More, and Break Your Own Recordsand it had a huge positive impact on me. What he promises - read smarter, remember more and break your own records WORKS. Seip has a unique and interesting point of view. He takes the complex subject of the brain and makes it readable and fun to implement. Outstanding!

3.0 out of 5 stars mainly a self-help book
The title tricked me into buying this book! ... It is more like a self-help book about achieving your dreams; I was looking for a book to improve memory and brain function (it has some chapters about it, but nevertheless there is a lot of jibber jabber about how you can get something if your really want it, and how no one in the world knows how to achieve their dreams and blah blah ... ) ... Anyhow, the title and the intro were sort of misleading for me and for that I've dropped 2 stars.
