Product Description
The MITXPC MX500 support Mini-ITX form factor motherboards. The enclosure is designed to fit an optional 80W DC-DC powerboard or a 120W DC-DC powerboard. The enclosure features a variety of mounting options such as wall mounting brackets, or an optional VESA Mounting Bracket for 80mm patterns. The MX500 is ventilated for silent fanless system configurations but can also support four 40mm fans for higher performance system configurations. With three antenna cutouts and a COM port cutout, it is flexible to meet additional attachments.

The HD supported is painted in black, unlike the Morex 557, which is nice because you don't see it through the venting holes.
The power light is dimmer and smaller than the Morex 557, which is much better. The Morex is blinding.
I wish there were USB 3.0 in the front panel and audio plugs. I hope manufacturers realize that mini-ITX is the future and not only for HTPC. I have an i3 in this case with 16 GB or RAM and a 750 GB HD, which is more than enough for the vast majority of users. So desktops this size, or a bit smaller like the Morex 557, should be the standard.
All in all, I recommend this case and I was sad I only needed one. If I need more space in my case I'll definitely buy this one. It's stylish and well-made. If I was building a computer for a friend, I would definitely go with this one instead of the Morex.

Outside of this case the system idled at a rather toasty 46 degrees, inside this case it idles closer to 56. The thermals are admittedly concerning but the thoughtful inclusion of mounting holes for 2 40mm fans on the top & bottom of the case should allow the temperatures to be brought into a reasonable range.
One complaint I must raise is the position of the standoffs below the motherboard, the placement of additional standoffs that correspond to the lengths of dc power supplies like the ones offered here on amazon would have been nice. It was an issue I ran into during my build and in the end I opted to order another power supply that simply mounted in the motherboard’s 24 pin connector rather than mounting an additional standoff in the correct position for my power supply.
Edit:
Long since getting this case it has servered many purposes. The mounting holes on the back allow it yo be mounted to vesa compatible drvices.
I originally attempted to curb the thermal issue with placing 40mm fans on top and bottom, which due to the size were loud and due to the lack of feet meant the case had to be placed on its side. Some surgery with the metal cutting bit on my dremel and a 50mm cooler was slapped on that sticks through the side plate.
This case is fantastic for DIY shenanigans.

I could not remove the cut-out for the wifi. Do i have to drill it? What's the point of having the cut-out and can't even make the holes. I dented it usinng a hammer but not coming off.

Update : bad usb connector
I called MITXPC and they were very helpful answering my questions. The included power led cable uses "black" for the ground color.
The only trouble I had was with the SATA cable. The cable was too close to the front switch/usb ports and I had to find a narrow cable without the metal clip to make it fit.
2016-06-17 Update: I don't like the holes in the top of the box and have covered them up with metallic tape.
