Full of practical tips to avoid the frustration of having to research and figure things out on your own. The only problem for me was that links in the kindle version are not clickable.

I never planned to homeschool my children, but ended up pulling my son out of a harmful school situation very suddenly. My family had a very steep learning curve, and Sound Foundations has been a fantastic guide for us. From providing an introduction to different homeschooling methods, guiding families through crafting their own homeschool mission statement, and helping parents think through curriculum and scheduling details, this book is a great resource for those just starting out on homeschooling. Making the decision to homeschool can be very overwhelming, but Sound Foundations gives parents the information and guidance they need to think through both practical matters and their own family's values, and feel more confident starting out on this new journey.

Overall, a lot of material is covered. I really enjoyed the steps to finding your why. I think that would benefit the most basic, newbie homeschool mom because being unsure of ourselves is something a lot of us struggle with.

I love how this manual defined each of the more popular homeschooling philosophies. It's not a one size fits all and I think that is also a misconception.

A little lengthy to read. Slightly disorganized at the appendix but still worth reading and thought provoking.

This is the perfect starter guide for new-to-homeschool parents. It's packed with information and easy to follow instructions and planning guides. I loved the workbook style and photo examples included.
