Customers are dissatisfied with the connectivity of the sonar fish finder. They mention that when the device is pulled under, they lose signal, the sonor is not accurate, and often cut off communication with their iPhone. The transducer would stop pinging and the graph would not show any tension on the line. The WiFi signal is not working, and the cover was cut open. This looks like a scam. The farthest the device could reach was 65 yards, but the phone service was weak, so they are upgrading their phone soon.

It is easy to setup and takes about 10min for first setup and linking afterwards takes about a minuet the app is free to download and works well
the only downfall is that its a really big device and really heavy so casting it is a high risk of snapping the line unless you have 20+ pound line or you like swimming after a runaway green blinking bobber. I definitely recommend not using a bait caster because you will backlash and lose this device due to the wind catching on the fins.
Over all I used it in the bay and cast a line in places where it shows fish on the screen and sure enough about 50% of the time there was a fish. in 2 hours I caught 5 bass while my 2 brothers only caught 2 fish each so it does work
its a cool device to entertain you for a good time while fishing and its the best bang for your buck so far that I have discovered anyway in the portable fish finder category
I first set it up in my pool, but the hard concrete bottom and only 5 feet of depth seemed to make it difficult to get consistent readings. This improved as I decreased the gain, but I never got it to work consistently in the pool.
I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED when I took it out into Clearwater Bay on my kayak. It performed flawlessly as I pulled it behind my kayak. I will use the included arm strap for my next adventure because my only issue was having to stop paddling to reach my phone.
This really is a great step forward in what we can do with our smart phones and a great fishfinder in moderately shallow waters. I look forward to taking it down to the Keys and seeing how it does out on the reef in about 100 feet of water. This was a great buy and really worth the price I paid for it. I do, however, wish it had about 8 hours of battery life instead of 4 hours.
1. Non-replaceable battery. That's going to be an issue sooner or later. This is tempered by the $60 rebuild offer, but still, it's going to need a battery someday, and it would be nice if that entailed a screwdriver and a gasket, rather than a return and rebuild.
2. Would it kill you to put a card with a list of instructions? I don't need a 300 page manual, but a simple quickstart. Download app, apply damp towel to transducer, set your smartphone device to receive WIFI from the TPod, enter password 12345678, follow onscreen instructions to complete setup. See? I just did it. It could even be printed on the side of the box. I wasted a few inutes trying to connect with the pod plugged in to charge, I figured that would let it broadcast. Nope, it's got to be damp.
3. At the river, it seemed solid, although at one point, it suddenly changed it's mind, displaying 23 feet briefly, otherwise a steady 12-12.5 feet. Briefly lost connection once, a simple tap to reconnect.
4. At a murky and weed-choked pond, it could not read at all. To be fair, the pond was absolutely infested with hornwort, opaque as iced coffee, probably non-navigable. Still surprised it couldn't shoot through, I guess a weed bed wold read a false depth?
With all that, I am a shorebound angler, and this is a phenomenal tool for my purposes. With a 12' heavy rod, I can probably cast it as far as I can cast a bait rig, and get a better read on the conditions of the water, in a fraction of the time, as I could with a marker float.
