    These magnets are very strong. But when I held one of these magnets over my “snake egg” magnet and allowed it to jump up to this magnet, it broke the magnet.

    I’m not removing stars for that, because they are thin, and I don’t know if this is standard fragility for any magnet this size. I have seen reviews for large magnets that have broken when dropped. Maybe they need to be handled with extreme caution.

    I will say that I found it interesting when I attempted to piece together the broken halves, they would no longer fit back together. They became immediate polar opposites as soon as they broke up…like a bitter divorce. They still cling to other magnets, but not the ends where they snapped.

    Knowing this bit of information, it makes sense that if the magnet has a flaw and begins to break, it will snap.

    I bought these to add to a magnet game my sister had. Instead of using a provided rope, we used a spare top to a plastic container and placed these pieces under the top to make the game more interesting.

    They were smaller than I expected, but I will say I had a chance to drag out my ruler and compare it with the dimensions on the description. It’s not like they gave erroneous dimensions in the description.

    So for what I paid, and the fragility of magnets in general, I have no reason to reduce stars based on my ignorance. Just be careful when you use them. If you drop them or let them snap to another magnet, there’s a great chance they will break. So be careful.

    One thing I did notice on these magnets is that one or two have pits or indentations in the edges. But again, the magnet did the job I intended, and I wasn’t entering them in a fashion show, so I won’t be removing stars.

    I mention these things so perhaps you’ll buy these with a bit more awareness than I had; and you will handle them with more care.

    This magnet is very strong. Once put it on a flat surface, so hard to remove. I put it on a white board after that I could not remove, so I used a flat and thin plastic card for slide into between them to separate it from the board the magnet. Then the magnet was broken. The adhesion is so strong, but the product self is not strong.

I bought them for general DIY uses in my RV cabinet access panels, and for making knife racks and securing my RV metal bath cabinet from flying open during bumpy rides. How I hate that. Better to fight to open it, then pick up broken pieces every time. Gazillion uses for them. Great for tool strips in garage too.

    I bought these magnets to hold the gas door on my truck in place rather than replace the door for nearly $700. And for that, these magnets work fine. Very powerful, very thin. But, if you drop the magnet onto a hard surface, it can shatter. Since these are made from rare earth elements (REE’s), there is a likelihood that the purchase of these supported the stripping of the Earth in China and the production of radioactive waste. REE’s (which truly aren’t rare) can be considered unsafe because the metal is produced with no oversight or acceptable safety monitoring, especially in China and all developing nations that look to REEs as a cheap source of revenue.
    So, that being said, I question what you can’t see with these magnets. No magnet made out of cobalt, nickel or iron would EVER shatter when dropped. And most countries don’t produce radioactive metals for consumer use. But China does.

    Bought these to help with my drawers constantly popping opening after closing. I did have one of them break in half on me but that may have been because of its position. Originally I tried using only one magnet in the center to lessen the overall quantity needed but I found that using two was better and provided more support. My only wish is that the adhesive was stronger because the magnets are very strong and when pulling drawers apart they sometimes fall apart and eventually won’t stick anymore. Also I wish there was more magnets included in the pack.
