Review
"Hands down, this is the most accessible book I’ve come across for anyone in a relationship that wants to improve their communication. Perfect for new relationships that want to build trust and excellent for older relationships that want to deepen connectivity. If you ever wanted a relationship expert to hold your hand through difficult conversations with your partner, this book is a must-buy. It’s a treasure trove of easy-to-implement activities and conversations that we all should have learned in high school." —Jeff Guenther, LPC, TherapyDen
"I've enjoyed using this resource with clients in my couples counseling practice. The activities for building trust are really helpful, and I absolutely love the fact that this book talks about consent to speak and listen before even getting to sex. I hope to use Love More, Fight Less as a text in my classroom this fall." —Catherine Nyhan, LPC Counseling Supervisor at Portland State University

- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2023My therapist recommended this book to me and as usual she doesn't disappoint. I've been lucky enough to inherit some pretty awful communication and relationship patterns from my parents. I have BPD, I'm autistic, and struggle with other comorbid conditions. Communication is NOT easy for me. Months after reading this book cover to cover I still revert back to it for helpful reminders of things I am working on.
What I love about it:
The sections of the book are broken down into easily digestible categories for the most common hot topics in relationships.
Each category has examples of situations that issue comes up in, examples of bad behaviors that draw out the problems and examples of what to do differently.
Each category has work book style prompts that encourage the reader, or the couple, to look deeply inward and break these patterns
Changes are difficult but not impossible and some of us weren't modeled the right way to be, so we need clear cut examples. I'd recommend this book to anybody who is interested in changing their relationships for the better.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2024High school sweethearts trying to make it past the 10 year mark. Both my husband and I are working the book independently. There are very deep topics but everything is laid out so user friendly, almost mapped out, for you. It makes the promts easy to follow and understand. The readings flow really well. We like how it simplifies therapy in an at home approach. With this book you get to do the work! Even on days I feel like I can’t emotionally handle an exercise, there are still so many helpful readings to get me thinking. (The paper is also very soft and nice to write on!)
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2022My husband and I both have one and we work through each of the sections together. The different sections are typically very short reading and then a short activity to work through, so it doesn’t take a lot of time if you go section by section. So far, I think we’ve both benefitted from it quite a bit and have already acquired skills to communicate better and make our relationship work more smoothly. Highly recommend for any couple!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2022My partner and I were going through a rough patch. We took a weekend with no phones no computers no tv, nothing. We rented an Airbnb 3 hours from our house and we worked through this book for 2 days. we spent hours going through it doing the activities, listening, and really hearing each other. We made a lot of realizations and left the weekend feeling ready to be in our relationship forever. I am grateful this book exists. I highly recommend the observation-perception-emotion chapter. We now use that in conversation at least once a day. Some of the activities make you feel silly but I encourage you to do all of them anyways.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2024Bahaha I think we fought more with this activity book, he didn't take our marriage seriously and shortly after discovering the unknown thoughts he had we got a divorce.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
This book is great. A lot of scenarios and helpful questions, both to use alone and as a couple. If you’re ready to be honest about your own problems then this book will go a long way. I’ve already recommended it to others and they’ve purchased it with great reviews.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Most of the exercises lack precise explanation. It left us with questions every time we tried to do them and we felt discouraged.
I read a comment just now where a social worker said that it was probably not good for someone without a clinical/therapeutic background and I would’ve love to read this comment before buying the book because I really feel like it’s true. This book would be a great addition when doing the work with a psychologist or couple therapist.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for me...
My fiance and I tried to get into this book but some of the questions we couldn't connect with and we stopped trying to get this book to work for us.
