Star has taken a topic that is often considered fluff, and emotionally driven, and validated the content with neuroscience and data. Each chapter concludes with takeaways as well as opportunities to reflect and discuss the lessons learned. Her personal and professional experiences provide stories that allow readers, whether engineer, scientist, creative artist, or philosopher to equally connect with the content and apply it to their organizations. As an educational consultant who has spent almost 40 years in the education niche, I can clearly see how the lessons and practical applications to leading with gratitude would apply to instructional leaders, and educators. Bottom line: This book would benefit anyone who is looking to improve not only their ability to lead, but also to increase their quality of life. It's a book to keep by one's bedside so that it can be picked up, flipped through and read, over and over again.

I read this book twice, and am still browse sections from time to time.
Star Dargin makes a great case that gratitude in the work place can improve interactions and make teams more productive.
But she also is providing great tools for adopting a stance of gratitude throughput the day.
I have taken several of her ideas and adopted a gratitude practice that has improved my day both at work and home.
That makes this book twice as valuable, which perhaps is why I've read it twice.

This book isn't just for business leaders but for anyone who wants a dose of inspiration for better appreciating and weathering life's ups and downs.

I've had the pleasure of hearing the author speak on this topic and her expertise and excitement for the topic serves this book well. She relies on an earnest enthusiasm and clever humor to express the core values of the practice of gratitude in business. She offers smart yet simple steps to readers in an accessible way for them to build their own practices, highlighting the wide range of circumstances where gratitude can be applied effectively in business.

Dargin's background in management consulting and leadership training allowed her to ground the book's analysis of gratitude practices alongside the most established leadership theories, a helpful cross-referencing for the reader.

Great advice and techniques on leadership

Star does an excellent job describing how gratitude and appreciation play a key role in establishing a committed and loyal workforce. She breaks down methods that are very easy to follow and work very well. I would highly recommend reading this book.
