This watch keeps very good time. Since I bought it in February 2012, it's been off an average of +-1.5 seconds a month. To achieve that level of accuracy, you have to do something not mentioned in the truly terrible manual -- lock down the crown and the pushers. (Unlocked, the watch time seems to drift, gaining as much as +15 seconds a day the first three days I had it. I was concerned that I'd have to send it back.)
Once you have the watch locked down (typically, I wear the watch with pushers and crown locked), the alarm will be so soft as to be useless (and having a 12-hour alarm rather than a 24-hour one is really annoying). I re-purposed the alarm dial to show a second time zone (GMT) -- ANOTHER feature not mentioned in the manual.
I wish the manual was better, to show all the features I had to find out about by haunting the various watch boards.
It's a beautiful watch. The dials are all accurate and sharp, contrast is good, nicely visible in low light. Lume holds up pretty well (most of the night (6 hours I'd guess, though I haven't sat down and timed it), and gradually fades. Each hand of the chronometer returns exactly where it started -- and, yes, I DO know how to offset them from zero if I want to.
I especially like the vibrant yellow chrono second hand. I volunteer as a paramedic, and I needed a vivid sweep second hand for timing pulses, respirations, and cardiac functions. It's also a BIG watch, and I like that as well.
All in all, this SNA411 from Amazon is a good deal if you're looking for a pilot chronometer at a reasonable price. Don't wait any more. Just buy it. You'll be glad you took the plunge. I am TOTALLY satisfied with this watch.
i do recommend replacing the strap though, it is without question the ugliest strap on any of my watches... a nato band in black with a yellow stripe would be my recommendation. i also have a yellow leather strap that looks great on it, but man that nato band makes the watch just POP.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Good watch, but the stopwatch hands (yellow) do not reset to 12 when zeroed out. The second hand resets to 51 and the minute hand resets to 10, makes it unusable for my purposes. See picture.
Army pilot. Bought this as a gift to myself out of flight school to be used for everyday wear and for time-on-target flight planning. When I zero out the yellow stopwatch hands, it's supposed to go to 00:00. Instead, the hands end up at the 10:51 position. What's the point of a chronograph that can't be used to time things? The watch looks really nice, wears well, isn't bulky, and generally isn't hard to use. For the price I at least expected it to do the bare minimum and it didn't really stack up. If I were to purchase again, I'd likely go with a Citizen Navihawk or other flight chronograph.

It is a heavy watch, but its stainless steel bracelet is excellent quality that has removable links as standard and I am reviewing this watch this evening because it is, on Amazon here fantastically good value and I doubt it can be bought cheaper. I cannot recall how much my husband paid at the time way back in 2013, but it is still going very well.
If you see this watch and have someone special who'd appreciate a watch of this caliber, buy it! Whoever you buy it for will not be disappointed.
Seiko have always been 'up there' in timekeeping quality and excellent workmanship. I cannot recommend this fine Seiko enough.
