Editorial Reviews
Review
'This textbook shows a healthy (and rare) mix of recent and up-dated discussion of current syntactic theory and a detailed description of English syntax. Students can learn from this volume most of the major syntactic characteristics of English, while becoming ready for more advanced work in linguistic theory.' Naoki Fukui, Sophia University, Tokyo
'This new textbook provides a concise overview of most of the major areas of current syntactic theory, and is thoroughly up to date. Over years, my students have told me that they appreciate Andrew Radford's ability to explain complicated ideas in a simple and down to earth way.' Tim Stowell, University of California, Los Angeles

4.0 out of 5 stars Great deal for a Poor Starving Student
The book was exactly what I needed for my Seminar in syntax class. It cost $30 less than the price listed at the university bookstore and it was in good shape. The paper is thin and the text size is on the small side, and this allows it to look like a condensed version while maintaining all the information.
After getting through customs, it took 15 days to arrive to my apartment (which is 3 hours away from the border), but it was sent in a timely manner.
The content is described well and it is worth a read, from those who are interested in formalist syntax.

4.0 out of 5 stars

3.0 out of 5 stars Syntax
