Used for a battery box build. They work fine but they’re long so make sure you have the clearance behind it. The weather cover is thick and makes a good seal. The threaded ring on the back is plastic as are the threads on the outlet. Over tighten it and it will skip a thread. I used a drop of glue on the back to hold the retaining ring in place.

Good sockets, with mounting limitations

The sockets and wiring as such are great. However, despite what the vendor would have you believe, these are not a standard outside diameter barrel, and don't fit any of my vehicles. I made my own mounts, but most people wouldn't have the tools to do that. These are NOT factory replacements. If you're handy, they're great. If you're not handy, or want a factory replacement, measure very carefully. My prediction is that you will have to look elsewhere.

I ordered several of these and installed them on my boat several months ago. I live aboard with my wife, so they've seen a lot of use in that time. I'm overall pleased with the quality of the sockets themselves. They install easily, with male spade terminals hard-mounted on the back of them for easy connection to the wiring harness.

The good:
* Sockets work at both 12v and 24v DC (they're not rated for 24v but I haven't seen any issues)
* Sockets are standard diameter and depth so they don't have any issue fitting in as replacements for older ones

The bad:
* They're listed as for marine use and the sockets themselves seem fit for purpose, but the wiring that comes with is anemic (undersized), not marine wire (fully tinned strands), and the terminations are weak and sometimes easily pulled off
* The inline fuse may or may not work but I've had two of the fuse holders melt until one of the wires separated (which should never happen) while passing less power than the fuse was rated for.

Bottom line: the sockets are great and worth the cost but throw away the included wiring before you're tempted to use it. It's not an exaggeration to call it a fire hazard and it gives you a false sense of protection. Fortunately, all of mine are installed after 5 or 10a breakers, so the fuses are redundant and I would've been protected from a short resulting from the failure I mentioned. I've since replaced all of the wiring with more appropriately sized and properly terminated Ancor wire and terminals.

I really like how easy these are to install and also like the blue internal lighting that indicates when power is applied to them. The caps seem durable and seal the inside well too. I liked the fact that the units come with fused wires to help make the connection to power. I did find that the female spade connectors on the supplied connection wires tend to slip off of the male connectors on the sockets - the ends were not crimped closed enough to grab onto the male connector. It was a little annoyance that was easily fixed with a pair of pliers to smush the female ends closed

Melted under 5amp load

The fact it comes with a 10amp fuse "implies" it could handle up to 10amp draw. This is not the case. Under a 5amp load the plastic housing of the included inline fuse melted. The FUSE was fine. It has not popped, just the plastic housing had melted so the contacts pulled away. Fortunately! I was nearby during the "smoke test" but did not watch it closely enough to see it happen. Be careful with this if you intend to use it for anything other than maybe cell phones, etc. I'd be cautious even running something like a 12v fan off this with 2-3amp draw. Going to cut out the inline fuse and connect direction to a fuse block with a 10amp blade fuse. Will monitor VERY closely and see if the wires can handle it or not but another review mentions the plug itself melting so I'm probably going to end up looking for something else
UPDATE: I did as I said, cut the inline fuse out of the wire and ran it to my fuse block which already has a 10amp fuse. Plugged in my 5amp load and carefully monitored this time. The wires themselves heated to about 125 degrees F and after about 5 minutes the metal tongs that let you slide the wire leads on and off MELTED the plastic in the actual outlet and started to fall out. Disconnected load and let it cool.
It *might* work for small loads like a single 12v fan or a cell phone charger but I would not run something like an inverter off this or charge through it. Just won't stand up.
