    i have had my aquariums for 13-14 years started out with the awful clear not flexible tubing that cracks... i also tried other silicone tubing from online ... my local fish store got this in and i tried it and this is all i use now ...even if it a little more expensive been using now over 6 years & i use allot of it for allot of DYI fish jobs and 4 sponge filters .. it is flexible but stays in place after you place it it does not get as dirty like the cheap clear tubing .. plus it is easy to remove from sponge filters and attach it back while cleaning .. i do not really mind the blue color but would like to see it came in green or black to blend in with plants or black background better .. i helped my niece set up first aquarium for her sons and i bough some of this for her care package of fish stuff to get her started ..

It's much easier to bend than the old clear tubing that came with the pump but it isn't completely kink-free.Maybe I could have softened it up with a hair dryer or something to take out all the bends. This tubing is blue and not transparent, so it is more visible than the clear tubing unless you have a blue background.

    I am able to hide it behind the Fluval heater (which as Norm says, celebrates it's existence, big and very black) so it's not too much of a concern for me.
    If however, one has a fairly sparsely decorated tank it is going to be the focal point.
