Lots of fun with help from mom and dad

Lots of fun with help from mom and dad
This has turned out to be one of the best gifts we've ever gotten our kids! It saved Christmas this year: the boys were melting down, overstimulated, and in need of a good, focussed activity. Enter the marble run. They are ages 3 and 6, so they needed our help to get the structure started. But once we built a solid foundation, they were able to attach pieces too.One great thing about this toy is that standard-sized marbles fit in it. So we gathered all our marbles together and sent them all down. My kids love to send lots of marbles down at once, which caused some traffic jams at the spinners. But I found that if I raised the spinning wheel a tiny bit, it didn't jam, so I just inserted a teeny ball of tin foil into each of the spinner holes. Perfect. When you're building the run, you do have to adjust the foundations from time to time in order to stabilize it. But once you get it, it stays standing without a problem. Much better than the wooden marble run we had a while back, where the pieces didn't actually attach to each other and would slide apart a little bit every time you sent a marble down. So frustrating! There are lots of pieces in this set, and while I would have liked a few more "specialty" pieces, it's really a great set overall. We've built towers taller than my 6-year-old, and tracks as long as the rug. The kids are always excited to play with this marble run, and I think we'll be using it for years to come.
