In 2006, YETI Coolers was founded with a simple mission: build a cooler that you could use every day if it existed. One that was built for the serious outdoor enthusiast rather than for the mass-discount retailers. One that simply wouldn’t break. Today, YETI products perform when it matters most - whether that be an excursion into the Alaskan wilderness, chasing redfish on the Gulf coast, or just getting together with friends in the backyard.

I generally use mine for beer...ok, I've only used mine for beer. I don't sip my beer so I don't usually have "keep my beer cold" problems. But there are occasions when my beer would have an opportunity to warm more then usual. For example, enjoying a burger or two at a tail-gate pregame. Or by the pool on a hot summer day. Maybe playing softball and you have to set your beer down to go play defense?
This is the Lamborghini of coolie cups. It is high quality and it keeps your beverage colder, longer. You will love this Colster. One side note, it does come with a Yeti can that looks like a real can, but the top pops off. I'm not sure of it's purpose or what to use it for, but it is kind of cool in it's own right.
If you want your standard can of soda to stay cold this is excellent. It is a double-walled steel vessel. Think of it as being like the best camping thermos you've used. Because that's essentially what it is. The vacuum between the two walls is an incredible insulator. I bet most of the warming comes from the open top and not the sides or bottom of the can.
My usage goes like this. I drink diet soda all day. I'll slip one in this and screw down the top. Which has a flexible rubber air seal to keep air from slipping down the sides of the can. And keeps it from rattling around. Once I open the can I may nurse it for an hour or more. I would estimate that my soda keeps cold for at least an hour. Not ice cold. Of course it gradually warms. But cold enough to retain fizz and flavor. It's usually still below room temperature right to my last sip.
I don't think I've ever dropped this on a hard surface before. I imagine it could get very dented if I did. Looking at it now I can't see any scratches or dents in it at all. I imagine I could use this beast as a weapon if I had to.
I've used plastic with foam and some other types of can coolers before. None worked anywhere near as well as this. Yes it costs more but it is totally worth the cost for me.
I'd love to see Yeti try integrating a small thermoelectric element into one of these to keep my soda cool indefinitely. The great insulation plus a tiny thermopile could be a perfect marriage. Just give me a charging plate to plug into a USB port or wall socket. When I set the Yeti down on the charging plate the thermopile kicks in. The outer layer of steel gets warm. The inner layer gets cool. Voila.
The goofy collectible can thing they include is a waste of material. I wonder if most people throw it out like I did. Save me a buck or two. Skip it. Small quirk for an otherwise incredible product.
Keeps your beer cold unless you're nursing it like a ninny, and even then your last sip will be cooler than if you kept your can in anything else.
Not universal, some bottles don't fit; some do. But bottles out 'n' about? What're you doing? This thing is for cans in action, unless you're drinking Coors or White Claws. But why would you do that either?
During a boat outing this thing got hucked at the boat by one of the drunk freaks I call friends: dented the outer shell, not a scratch on the powder coat, still works 100% and now it's kind of got a thumb indent for superior beer gripping. We got to it before we found out if it sinks or floats. Experiments in the bathtub will tell.
I lied about how easy it is to wash. I have no idea. I don't wash it. It's never needed washing.

Although until my husband got use to it, he did say because of the weight his drink still felt like there was some left in it at first. No problem now.
This was a birthday gift for my husband and he loves it.
