Okay for my personal opinion on this camera for the price just for the fact that it works is worth the price the quality is mediocre at best and sometimes the battery doesn't want to charge according to the way the adapter is plugged in you have to kind of play with it at least I did with the unit I received or a phone you won't be able to use it because of the unknown Chinese video format so if you're planning on using this for video editing you'll have to run the file through a video converter application before you can use it besides that for the price it's an excellent camera takes a beating and continues to work and all the weather conditions but I will be definitely upgrading to a Sony GoPro official

I can't believe how well this camera works! We used it in the ocean and underwater in the pool and it did a fantastic job with both pictures and video. The underwater pictures are even a decent quality, but we used it mostly above water. The only thing I wish worked a bit better is the microphone when the case it on, but it makes sense that it wouldn't pick up the sound as much when it is fully sealed. Overall, a fantastic product for the price!

Unusably poor video quality. Image was very grainy and dark. Turning up the exposure only the made the image incredibly white, as if what the camera actually did was remove contrast. The video constantly switched between a saturated pink and a saturated blue tone often, whenever it thought the light level had changed. I'd be watching a video and suddenly everything would turn pink. The file is in uncompressed .avi format, which took up a huge amount of space even at only 720p 30fps. A 26 minute video I took at that low resolution setting was a whopping 4GB. The 1080p setting only records at 15 frames per second, rendering that mode completely useless. I was going to give this 2 stars because I felt guilty about giving it only one. But, honestly, it literally cannot be used to record video that is usable for anything, so I can't even give it 2 stars.

I Guess You Get What You Pay For

I got this camera to use as a helmet cam for riding my motorcycle. I was HOPING to use it to start a motovlog, but that won't be happening with this camera. A few problems with it:

1) The SD card slot does not hold the SD card very well. Out of about 10 test runs, I have more than a couple where the SD card has popped out after just a minute or so. This means that I have video or me suiting up and riding out of my neighborhood. Nothing beyond that.

2) It's advertised to have a "wide angle" lens. This is not exactly true. The field of vision that is captured by the camera is my immediate surroundings, and that's about it. I get a wider angle strapping my cell phone to my chest.

3) The mounting hardware is a nightmare to figure out. I wanted to mount the cam on the chin of my helmet. After several attempts where the camera filmed the street, I decided there was no choice but to mount the thing to the top of my helmet. Now, I not only look like a Teletubby when I ride, but I now cannot see my speedometer, or what my hands are doing. Which leads me to my next point...

4) The camera is focused so far out at it's least magnified setting that even mounted on top of my helmet, which is the farthest back that I can effectively go, I cannot see my speedometer and hands. If any type of incident occurs where I need that footage to back up my part of the incident, the speedometer and the actions of my hands are very important.

So to summarize, if you are just looking for a cheap way of filming your rides, this will sorta do the trick. The video quality is clear (I don't think I would say 1080p, as advertised, but...you know), and I can hear the sound of the motorcycle. I cannot hear anything that I am saying while riding, which is a big part of motovlogging. There is also no input for an external microphone. I can say that I have yet to have any problem with the battery. The battery life does give me more than some reviews have stated, and has not gone dead on me yet. If motovlogging is what you are going for, spend the extra money and get a higher quality camera. But if you just wanna be able to prove that the person you just hit did actually pull out in front of you, then this is a cheap way of getting that done.

So I had this camera for almost two years.
It is good for the money. Yes, it's reasonably priced. Yes, it does a reasonable job. No, it will never be fantastic.

I have a better video camera, and I have a DSLR. Will it ever equal those, no. Does it capture decent shots or video; especially where you might not want to risk a better more expensive camera, yes. Have I ever looked at a video I shot with it and wished I had better quality, yes.

The field of view is nice. It doesn't do that great in adverse light conditions; too dark or too light. Typical room light is fine. If its past dusk it really needs substantial artificial lighting. I have had the sun wash out part of the screen when it came into the frame at the beach.

I have taken this camera on dune buggy tours, motorcycle trips, water park rides and snorkeling; to name a few. I was able to record and share some fun videos with this camera.

If you want an inexpensive, small camera to start recording with; this isn't a bad option.

In the end the waterproof case started to crack, and needed replacement. The camera is still fine. I am just going to buy another one. It did what it was supposed to at a good price.
