I was looking for an introduction to a style of music that I had no knowledge of. I work with entertainment media as part of my job, and when I saw this title I decided to buy it. It met my expectations by introducing me to salsa. Since I have nothing else to compare it to, I only gave it 4 stars. If I was more familiar with the genre/style of music, I would probably have given it a 5 star rating. It's good music.
Not sure what I expected but i wouldn't call this psychedelic by any means. I was expecting maybe some guitar solos, reverb, effects, but in a salsa context. Only one track comes close to this. The rest of the tracks are ordinary salsa tracks. Nothing wrong with that, and I'll play it in again in that context, but certainly not my idea of 'Psychedelic'
