The authentic Instant Pot sealing ring is an integral part of the Instant Pot safety mechanism. It’s designed, engineered, and built with the optimal material to achieve the hardness and strength required to withstand high-pressure force during electric pressure-cooking. Instant Pot sealing rings have passed UL, FDA, and LFGB tests for safety, including food safety. To ensure your Instant Pot cooker continues to perform as it was meant to only use Instant Pot authentic sealing rings with your Instant Pot cooker. It is recommended to replace your Instant Pot sealing ring every 12-18 months. To avoid discoloration and odors, one may wish to change the sealing ring every 6-12 months. This 2-pack color set, allows you to use one for sweet and dairy, and the other for savory foods. Note: The use of third party unapproved sealing rings may cause damage.

(so 4 stars it is) BUT why did we need to replace these in the first place? Because they absorb all odors and stink after using--no amount of vinegar, etc helps. And now the new ones stink too :(

Tried an off-brand first to save a few bucks - big mistake - they were warped and would not seal, ended up throwing them and buying 'the real thing' which fit/replace easily and create a perfect seal on the Instapot. We make a lot of pork and sauerkraut, so we reserve one ring just for that and use the other for everything else.

These are replacements, extra to have on hand, the silicone food grade sealing rim that came with the Instant Pot is just the clear one, these are fun blue and red ones. The rubber seals take on an odor of whatever you have cooked and even with suggestions on the internet or their manual, the odors never go away. So, these replacements are a good fix, and from time to time I will just replace my sealing rim.
