About the Author

Camille Bateman Haight, was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. She was born the fourth child in a family with eight children. "I grew up in a loving home full of great people. My parents taught me great things, among them was first a love of God, second a love of family, and third a belief in honing and using one's talents." From a very early age her father taught her a love of literature. She was encouraged to read books on her summer vacations, and write a book report on each one. Her father pushed her to learn new vocabulary words regularly to further her foundation. Her grandmother also had that same love of classic novels and poetry she read to young children at elementary schools and loved to read to all her grandchildren. Her love and influence just added to Camille's fondness of good story telling. Camille started writing stories as a hobby at the age of twelve, but never understood how much she truly loved it until much later in her life. After the sudden passing of her mother Camille felt the need to pursue her dream of writing powerful stories, was more important than ever. Now as an adult, she has turned that love of literature into something more. As a mother of five beautiful girls, Camille discovered her foundation once again, and with the wonderful support of her husband began to carve out the time to write seriously. In the excitement of watching, The Powers if Influence series, unfold before her, Camille understood for the first time the simple satisfaction that comes with following your dreams. Upon completing it she went straight to work on another one, and so it went. Her love of a good story can be seen within each chapter of her books. "A good story should pull at you from within, and bring forth a bond between you and the Characters as if they truly are you best friend or most hated foe. A good story will make you laugh out loud, or have tears slipping down your cheeks. A story should feel real, and engage you on every level," said Camille. Today Camille lives in Utah with her husband and young children, where she continues to pour herself into her stories. "I will write until I have nothing left, or until my fingers give up on me." She said, knowing that for her, a good story is at the core of so many of life's memorable moments.

Camille Bateman Haight, was born and raised in Sandy, Utah as the seventh child in a family with eleven kids. From the start, I felt connected with the characters as if I were an invisible spectar to their world, a floating particle of perspective just dying to jump in with them. We are quickly immersed into a world of demons and monsters, with a society all their own.

I didn't need to read the first novel in the series to feel comfortable picking this one up. At first, I was cautious skipping a novel but a friend had recommended this as a "must read," and we have honestly been talking over the subtleties ever since.

I highly suggest picking this up, but start with the first! If you're going to do it than do it right. Haight is worth the reading spree. I am looking forward to whatever else she brings to the table.

This book had me on the edge of my seat with all the action! We get to see more of Jarrett and his struggles to escape The Faction's relentless attacks. Collett has a strange connection to him, and as this develops in the book, we get to uncover more of the mystery behind who she is.

The characters are great and well written - I cared about them and got caught up with their emotions/concerns. Even with the serious nature of the situations they find themselves in, Nate can lighten the mood with his quick wit and sarcasm. I laughed at him a couple of times.

The action goes right up to the end and leaves me highly anticipating the next book! I hope we don't have to wait too long!

The pacing was excellent and really drove home just how powerful a novel this is. The characters were interesting and a little bit one-dimensional, but not in a bad way. It was a good vs evil story at it's core, and I really enjoyed reading it.

This was the second book in the series, and now I can't wait to move on to the last book and see how everything ends!

It all comes down to good vs evil, and sometimes good can be corrupted into evil. Long as there are people willing to fight the evil, the good has a chance to win. Lets hope in book 3we can see the good come out of the final battle.
