So glad Sambal Oelek is back!
I haven't been able to find this at any stores near me for well over a year and the online prices were flat out extortion. So glad to finally see it available again for a reasonable, albeit it higher than original, price. I was nervous after seeing so many reviews from people who received broken/leaky bottles. But I was blessed, and mine arrived in good condition in DEC 2023 with an expiration date of OCT 2025.

It's a shame I cannot find this in my stores anymore, be it Walmart, Safeway or Kroger-based QFC. However, I'm glad to find it here. This particular chili paste brand is a favorite for flavor because I'm not a fan of the ones that rely much on vinegar and it adds the proper funk to my favorite dish or sauce without overpowering it. Mix a spoonful in your bowl of marachan ramen, pho, stew, chilli, or the tartar sauce for your favorite fish and chips spot and you're all set. Does wonders for your teriyaki sauce. Works great in your mayo too, so the next time Wendy's slathers your sandwich with mayo, mix a bit of this in and enjoy the bit of kick the sandwhich now has. Want to make you ketchup a bit more interesting, mix a little of this into your portion for your fries.

I found this stuff a few years ago as a Walmart stocker, and I never regretted trying it.

A friend introduced me to this paste a few years ago. It's all I use. Not too hot, just a nice flavor. I bought two bottles as the stores are not carrying it any longer. The packaging of this was terrible. Not enough bubble wrap. The bottles were not adequately protected. The lids on both were cracked, lost maybe a tablespoon. I kept them both.
