"Mondo is an American company known for releasing limited edition screen printed posters for films, television shows, and comics, as well as vinyl movie soundtracks, clothing and apparel, toys, and re-issues of VHS releases. Founded in 2004 as Mondo Tees, the company is a subsidiary of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain in Austin, Texas, and currently hosts a permanent gallery space there which features original artwork and custom posters."

The Art of Mondo features 352 pages chronicling the artistic "highlights and favorites from Mondo's first nine years..."
What are my thoughts?
If you love illustration, movie posters, printmaking, or even just looking at pretty pictures; get this book. Hundreds of immaculate illustrations printed in lush, full color on almost every page. Featuring some of the top illustrators working today (Florian Bertmer, Jock, Kevin Tong, Tyler Stout, Ken Taylor, Daniel Danger, Aaron Horkey and many more) this book will consume you in the best way. Only a couple of the larger or atypical sized illustrations had to be scaled down a bit resulting in a minor loss of quality but nearly every page jumps out at you in stunning detail. The book is a very heavy duty hardback edition but time will tell if the binding holds up. The book is organized by years and each chapter begins with a small write up from the various creative directors involved with the company. Some of the featured illustrations in the book include both the big blockbuster titles like Star Wars and classic Disney as well as cult classics like Creepshow, Friday the 13th, Flash Gordon and many more from every film genre. The Art of Mondo will be an invaluable source of artistic inspiration for me for years to come. It's also the next best thing for those of us who have never been able to snag a Mondo print before they sold out.
How was the delivery/shipment?
I ordered my copy from the seller "sparklebooks" and it arrived very quickly. I received it three days before the expected delivery date. It was packaged well with plenty of peanuts for support and the book itself came sealed in plastic wrap.

Overall VERY happy with this purchase. I’m a lover of pop culture as well as coffee table books and this is a beautiful piece to add to my collection. The book did arrive slightly damaged, but not enough to be a big issue. This is something to keep in mind however if you do care about that. Seeing as this will either be stored away on a shelf or open faced in a table; I am not too worried about it.

🔵 il libro è una raccolta grafica dei poster e delle visual key prodotte dalla casa texana nel corso di tre decenni. Il libro è infatti suddiviso per decennio fino ad arrivare al 2010 (manca infatti il bellissimo poster fatto per doom 2016).
🟣 altissima la qualità cartotecnica del prodotto, solido, pesante e con una carta di ottima qualità che rende alla perfezione la visione artistica dei creativi in termini di colori, saturazione, contrasto ecc.
Tutto viene impreziosito dai bellissimi poster spiegabili (a volte di 2 a volte di 3 pagine) inclusi all’interno del volume che rendono alla perfezione la dignità di opere come ritorno al futuro o la complessità di film come Akira.
🔴 il libro si sfoglia con la facilità di un fumetto di topolino. Il suo fascino ipnotizzante vi porterà a sfogliarlo ancora e ancora nei giorni a seguire.
🟢 un bellissimo regalo per designer, fotografi, disegnatori e artisti!

Es en este espacio que entidades como Mondo, Dark Ink o Bottleneck Gallery nos dan lo que añoramos, posters hechos por un artista y con la bendición de los estudios, además de dar casi siempre una corrida limitada.
Es imposible tener todos los pósters de Mondo, sería una inversión muy grande, y pocos tienen tantas paredes.
Este libro es un excelente compilado de estas grandes creaciones, y cuesta lo que uno solo de esos pósters.
El formato se ajusta para hacerles justicia, y tanto el papel como el tamaño son ideales.
