Editorial Reviews

Review

"Coulter and Ellison are really on an amazing roll with their outstanding A Brit in the FBI series. Wildly creative and twisty plots that take readers on crazy rides around the world are anchored by a core cast of unforgettable characters. Another element that has been great in this series is the developing relationship between Nicholas Drummond and Michaela “Mike” Caine. Thrillers do not get better than this!" -- RT Book Reviews, Top Pick

Catherine Coulter’s and J.T. Ellison’s collaboration of a fast moving mystery thriller is a spine-tingler grabbing readers from the first page and throughout the storyline of THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE. Coulter and Ellison create an incredible adventure for the two protagonists, FBI Agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela (Mike) Caine. This unique team of agents and their hand-picked support team have been given the task to pursue cases dealing with exceptional circumstances. Their storyline begins with the return of Kitsune, alias the Fox, stealing an artifact dating back to the time of Moses. Instead of fulfilling the payment agreement for stealing the artifact, the people attempt to kill Kitsune at the point of delivery and then kidnap her husband. The authors provide the backstory of the relationships between Nickolas, Mike, and Kitsune including details of why Kitsune would feel she could call Nicholas for help.

The storyline’s momentum increase and adds to the intrigue and suspense with the introduction of support characters and subplots that keep readers on the edge of their seats the danger increases for the team. The Nicholas and Mike’s FBI team and Kitsune travel to Turkey and then to Venice in pursuit of those responsible for the attempts on Kitsune's life and the kidnapping of her husband. Events unfold so fast they take the breath away for readers. Danger and dead bodies seem to be around every corner. Coulter and Ellison continue adding new information about each of the main characters keeping readers interest high. Readers shadow Nicholas and Mike as their investigation uncover details that don’t seem to be possible. They find out more about capabilities of the patriarch of the family of evil antagonists. The authors keep their readers in the dark as to how things will turn out.

THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE delivers action, murder, out of this world computer technology, romance, humor, and justice for the good guys. Coulter and Ellison bring their story to life as Nicholas, Mike and Kitsune join forces to overcome the antagonists’ plans to destroy cities and kill thousands. The suspense, thrills, and romance keep the story alive to the heartwarming ending. THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE is a book readers will have a hard time putting the book down. It is must read.

FBI agents Drummond and Caine, head of Covert Eyes, have been called by the Fox, an international thief for help. They have had dealings with the Fox before. She was hired by clients to steal a biblical artifact. When she shows up to get her final payment and turn the object over to them they double cross her. Her clients attempt to murder her but she manages to escape. Before her escape she overheard information that she thinks Drummond and Caine need to know. She also needs their help because her clients have kidnapped her husband in an effort to force her to surface so they can kill her. When the identity of Foxs clients is revealed they discover they are dealing with a set of crazy as loons twins with sociopathic tendencies.

This is a fast paced book with non stop action. It ties events from ancient times to the present in a very imaginative way. Coulter and Ellison make a very good writing team. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

As I am a great fan of Catherine Coulter and both FBI series (especially the Brit series), I thoughtlly enjoyed this book. I do think the story line for the Ark of the Covenant was Google based vs. the Bible, I still liked the story. I am glad to see Kitsune is back and I really like her. I thought the story was very well written and the action and plot was very entertaining and kept my attention. Mike's near death and recovery was a stretch (but I don't particular care for Mike's character, so I might be bias). I really was hoping she didn't make it (I know, bad of me to say that), but I love Nicholas's character and would like for him to be single or paired with someone else. Anyway, I can't wait for the next installment of this Brit FBI series. Good job you two.

I have been a fan of the TV show Scorpion since it day one and this book is like it. Both require a little leap of faith because the plots are umbelievable at times. But, here is the key, both are entertaining. This book combined a little of the artifact search that is so Da Vinci code with tried and true cast and more than a dash of excitement. I hope we see Mike and Nicholas and the team (both good and not so good) again

The Covert Eyes team does a great job here. Special Agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine come into some very tight situations in this book. The Fox has contacted them for help. Her husband has been kidnapped by the people she has just stolen an artifact for and they are wanting to not complete their end of the transaction. There is much more here than meets the eye. What has caused the Gobi sandstorm that hits Beijing? Who is responsible? The twins are ready to attack Washington DC to distract Mike & Nicholas. Can their grandfather control them.? Lotrs going on and keeps everyone busy trying to keep up. Be sure to read.

I enjoy the collaboration between Coulter and Ellison, and _Devil's Triangle_ is good fun. However, the fast-paced story is more rushed than their norm. There are several interesting premises set in motion, though none feel completely developed, as if there were simply too many ideas to juggle. I also agree with another reviewer that these premises are highly improbable - so be prepared to suspend your disbelief. The unusual number of typos were distracting. There were almost too many characters thrown in, so many felt like caricatures. Some more judicious editing should be considered in future. Despite these issues, it was a fast-paced read, good for some relaxing downtime.
