Product Description
TranzIt BLU HF from iSimple is a Bluetooth hands-free calling kit with audio streaming so you can play audio from your smartphone through your vehicle’s sound system. The kit includes a convenient, low-profile, dash-mountable control button for controlling your streaming music, answering calls and launching your phone’s VR functions. This device is engineered to connect to any radio in any vehicle. It features a 3.5 mm audio output for connecting into any vehicle’s aux audio input for optimum sound quality, but also has standard Motorola-style antenna connections which allow for installation into any radio with a standard connector FM antenna, even 12-volt amplified antenna systems. Vehicles with different antenna connectors will require antenna adapters (sold separately.) Professional installation is recommended.

Customers like the performance of the wireless audio adapter. They mention that it works great, flawlessly with their stock BMW radio, and pairs/connects with their iPhone 12. The app isn't spectacular, but it works well and doesn't have ads. It works wonderfully to add Bluetooth to your car radio, phone calls, and a plethora of other things. It's far better than FM transmitters that attempt to use an on-air frequency. The hands-free mic works great. The app makes it easy to set the radio station you want to use.

Customers like the bluetooth connectivity of the adapter. They mention that it works great for playing music from their Amazon Prime account to the radio, and streaming music is also very good. The Bluetooth music is near CD quality, and sounds better than any other FM modulator. They are able to stream music and make calls through the factory system, and it supports both phone audio and media audio bluetooth services. Customers also say that it adds bluetooth function to their car stereo without an expensive price tag.
"...Call quality incoming and outgoing is very good. Streaming music is also very good although the volume requires turning your Bluetooth device pretty..." Read more
"...The music quality is good - quite better than I expected. Be aware that the stereo music quality is equal to that of FM radio - NOT CD QUALITY!..." Read more

Customers are mixed about the sound quality of the adapter. Some mention that it works great and has very good sound quality using the FM connection method, with minimal discernible audio loss. However, others say that on an open frequency, they hear static and interference noise. The modulation works fine, but it suffers from a volume issue. The volume has to be adjusted for each song, and there is a tiny bit of feedback or static if you crank the volume up way high.
"...the feedback has been the mic is clear and does a great job of canceling out background noise. Very happy with this product!!" Read more

"...playing immediately upon starting up your car, then it will continue to connect & disconnect every 20 seconds and it's extremely difficult to get it..." Read more
"...Butt connectors are ok, but for heaven’s sake avoid those inline snap together splice connectors which many big box audio installers tend to use to..." Read more
Customers are mixed about the value of the wireless audio adapter. Some mention it works well, is easy to install and use, and is a cost effective way to connect your iPhone audio via Bluetooth to your older car. Others say that it was the biggest waste of $80 they've ever spent, is fairly expensive for the quality, and basically unusable.

Customers are mixed about the voice quality of the adapter. Some mention that the quality was really good, and phone calls were clear. However, others say that when a phone call come in it will not play the sound of the voice from person calling them, Siri command works, there is no audio output, and calls do not sound perfect.
"...Done several test phone calls and all the feedback has been the mic is clear and does a great job of canceling out background noise...." Read more
"...The output through the stereo sounds good. The microphone is not very sensitive at all. It should be as close to the driver as possible...." Read more

Volvos are the biggest pain the in you-know-what to fit electronics to, due to a hugely overarching electronic brain that makes the MCP look like a chess program. (and 1f you got that, you're my target audience.) I installed this little beauty in a 2003 Volvo S80 with the HU-801 stereo. If you're a Volvo enthusiast you'll know this stereo well, and will perhaps have been just as frustrated as I was looking for an elegant way to add Bluetooth connectivity to it. The iSimple Tranzit Blu HF is the remedy to that frustration. It has completely exceeded every one of my expectations.
The box recommends professional installation. That said, installation is really a breeze. I mean -really.- The thing is tiny--about the size of a tin of Altoids--and you can stick it just about anywhere. The engineers really thought out this part out well; if you've spent any time at all behind your radio, this will be a piece of cake to install.
The Blu HF app, available for iOS and Android free of charge from their respective app stores, facilitates the introduction of your device to the unit. It also allows you to customize the name of the unit, which is handy if you install one in more than one of your vehicles. It also allows you to set the FM radio frequency to play through. Any station. Any station that strikes your fancy in the entire FM spectrum. Another reviewer did something really clever: he set the Tranzit Blu HF in the family car to his wife's favorite FM radio station, so she wasn't blasted out by static when she drove the car after he did. So not only does hubby get a cool gizmo, but he scores points with the Mrs., too. Sweet.
If you've got the right head unit, you're gonna really love this next feature: RDS. What's RDS you ask? RDS stands for Radio Data Service, a protocol that's been around for a while; FM stations use RDS to embed station identification, song title, and artist information digitally within the FM signal, so that they can be scrolled across the display of your radio. The Tranzit Blu HF communicates with your stereo through the antenna with FM signals, so it avails itself of the RDS protocol to display artist, and track information on your stereo when streaming music, and caller information when in phone mode. Boy, is that ever slick. It breathes new life into your factory head unit. My Volvo is from 2003, and the HU-801 stereo that lives in it can decode RDS. If you've ever seen song or artist data show up on your radio while listening to FM, then your stereo speaks RDS as well.
I'm giving this unit five stars because I can't give it any more than that. This little unit is a tremendous value for money, superbly engineered, exquisitely executed, easy to install, and a joy to use. If you've been looking for the perfect way to add Bluetooth to your older car, look no further.
We haven't had any major issues in over one month. I will say when the Bluetooth volume on the Nexus 5x is al the way up the sound is distorted but it's probably because of the phone EQ. Volume at 75% is great and volume on Moto X at 100% is great. The overall Bluetooth volume is quieter than other sources but that's not a big issue. Cars around the one with the module installed aren't able to listen to what it's playing, which is helpful especially when talking on the phone through the speakers. I'm guessing that's due to how the FM signal is injected directly into the antenna cable. I tested this in our garage with a second car right next to the one with the module installed and tuned to the same frequency.
It took about 4 hours to completely install the module and neatly route the mic wire up the front driver pillar to near the rearview mirror. I ended up splicing into the stereo's remote wire for power and was able to connect the ground to a bolt that other wires are grounded to. The module programming via the smartphone app was simple. The app isn't spectacular, but it works well and doesn't have ads or connect out to other unknown services (phone firewall showed zero connections to internet).
The mic placed above the rearview mirror picks up both the driver and passenger voice well so the person on the other end can understand pretty easily. The green next button is great when switching songs or turning off the module to listen to the radio. I haven't noticed any FM radio degradation when the module is powered off - though there certainly is when it's powered on (by design).
Overall this was a great addition to our car. Wish it was a little cheaper so I could add it to our other one we don't drive much!

Then I drilled a hole in the middle of one of the dashboard's dummy switches using a stepper bit (10mm is the diameter of the phone button, just as an fyi, as I couldn't find that information anywhere), which snugly held the phone button without the use of glue or any other adhesive. Then fed the phone button wire through a small hole I drilled under the 10mm hole and fed the wire behind the radio and connected it to the iSimple device mounted behind the dashboard. To give a clean looking finish, I bought a packet of 2mm thick strong, black elastic bands 10mm in diameter to give the button a border and hide the hole drilling finish, which looked a little ugly. The elastic band was very tough to get round the button, but after several attempts and very painful fingers later, it finally popped on firmly! Phew!
Pairing the device to the phone was very straight forward, following the instructions and, before I realised it was all done, it was all done! Now I just switch on the bluetooth on the phone when the car is switched on and it connects.
A few helpful hints: Firstly, sometimes, when my wifi is searching, connecting can be interrupted, so turn wifi off. Secondly, if more than more bluetooth device is paired to your phone, even if one of them is not in range, I found this device won't automatically connect. However, pressing and holding the telephone button for 6 seconds helps to give it that extra nudge to connect. The app that you can download to change the frequency of the iSimple device is good, but if you're in an area that already uses the 98.1 radio frequency, I'm afraid there is a strong probability that you're going to have to drive somewhere where that radio station isn't received to change the frequency to a new station, because the app may well say it can't connect, due to the strength of the radio station over your phone's signal. I changed mine to 107.9, which is the maximum frequency it has. Sometimes there's little interference every now and then, but nothing dramatic and the sound quality is very good! I hope this helps!
