Product Description

Product Description

Use

Built for use with ratchets and breakers bars, the TEKTON 4929 Oxygen Sensor Socket makes removing and installing oxygen sensors on vehicles with computer-controlled engines easy.

Performance

A heat treated, chrome vanadium steel construction ensures that the socket will take on oxygen sensors time and time again. The corrosion-resistant black phosphate finish also adds longevity to the socket.

Design

Designed with mechanics in mind, this socket works quickly and efficiently in the tight space around oxygen sensors. The 6-point beveled nose design securely grips oxygen sensor fasteners, preventing damage to the sensor. A side cutout allows you to easily slip the socket onto the sensor, preventing damage to wires.

Markings

Even in low light, the high-contrast, permanent, laser etched size markings are easy-to-read. The size is also engraved into the chrome vanadium steel on the exterior socket wall.

Don’t worry. So, go ahead, Take It On.

Specifications:

  • Drive Size: 3/8 in.
  • Material: Chrome vanadium
  • Socket Points: 6 with side cutout

From the Manufacturer

Easily install and remove oxygen sensors, and get your car engine running efficiently again with the TEKTON 4929 Oxygen Sensor Socket.

Fits Honda Civic Upstream Sensor. Diameter is 1.25".
5 Stars
Fits Honda Civic Upstream Sensor. Diameter is 1.25".
This tool worked for removing and installing the upstream oxygen (air / fuel) sensor on my 8th generation (2006-2011) Honda Civic. The sensor (Denso 234-9124) has a heatshield that limits which sensor tools fit. Initially, I tried a Powerbuilt offset socket that I already had on hand, but the tool diameter was too big to fit all the way into the heat shield so it wouldn’t reach the sensor’s hex “bolt”. With no manufacturers specifying an outer diameter (O.D.) dimension for any of the different O2 sensor tools, I crossed my fingers and purchased this Tekton socket. I’m happy to say it fit. To help others in the future, the O.D. of this socket is 1.25”. For reference, the Powerbuilt offset socket was 1.32”. (I uploaded a pic comparing both.) That 0.07” made the difference between what fit and what didn’t. Though I wish I had the diameter information up front, I’m happy that this purchase worked out and I hope you found this info helpful.
