This product is ideal for use in conjunction with a UPS as it is does not provide any surge protection or line conditioning, which would be provided by the UPS. Using surge suppression inline with a UPS invalidates the battery warranty and can cause problems with the load and consumption calculations.
Highlights
——————
- This product uses 14 AWG wire to connect each power receptacle from the back pressure locking holes.
- Grounded to case with 14 AWG wire for proper protection. I have seen other Chinese products cut costs by using thinner gauge, sacrificing safety.
- Full metal (coated steel) case. Very durable.
- Receptacles are of good quality with tight fitting outlets.

I only have a few very minor complains/comments: 1) the packaging is poor - mine must have been handled carefully, but I can see how the foam could crumble resulting in possible damage to the rack ears. The box isn't taped shut either, so it could easily come open in shipping. 2) The plastic cover over the power switch looks very cheap - it's somewhat flexible and works fine, though. 3) No mounting hardware - this isn't a big deal since anyone with a rack will likely have their own hardware (and it can vary based on the rack type).
I work in large enterprise IT as a systems administrator, and I deal with rack PDUs all the time from the likes of Dell, Cyberpower, APC, Belkin, etc... I was doing a relay / networking rack install for my home training lab / office , and I wanted a clean way to run power to all of my devise. You may notice a good number of those devices are actually desktop type. And yes they have wall wart type transformers, and no they don't work well with the PDU. I had to run 1' power extensions from the PDU to the wall warts. 3M double stick foam tape holds the wall warts to the tray immediately above the PDU. It works great, and has as clean of a look as is physically possible considering the sheer volume of cables running to and from this rack.
The PDU itself is bade of a sturdy metal construction housing, drilled for rack mounting holes, with a convenient master switch, and 10 standard black outlets along the back. A heavy duty, long power cable provides incoming power. I have mine set up as the only device drawing power from an OLD CyberPower CP585AVR UPS that I refurbished a few months ago. No more daisy chains of power strips hung off the UPS, and no more UPS on my desk. The UPS sits nicely behind the desk on the floor, and like I mentioned, the cables are routed neatly within the rack.
All in all I am quite pleased with the reliability, and performance dollar for dollar that CyberPower products have provided myself, and my employers / clients over the years. I fully intend to continue doing business with them for the foreseeable future.

Top reviews from other countries
- The fit & finish is on-par with PDUs from major brands and vendors (Dell, HP, IBM). The device feels premium (weight, balance) and ships with the mounting brackets built-in. Note that the mounting brackets are built onto the unit and cannot be removed; if you want to remove them, you will need to bend or saw them off. Note that mounting screws are NOT included - plan to purchase mounting screws or hardware separately if required.
- The outlets are on the rear of the PDU. If you have wide power adapters ("bricks"), they will cover TWO outlets - plan to purchase short power cable extensions (if needed) to get full utilization of the PDU.
- The lit power switch on the front of the device is a nice touch and appreciated. Anyone who has ever worked in a dense, rack filled environment will tell you that these save time (no tracing the cable to disconnect it) and make work easier.
Users who deploy the PDU under a desk will appreciate that the power switch has a plastic cover that comes down over the power switch - the cover is semi-transparent, allowing you to see the light, but hard enough to prevent an accidental shutdown of the PDU with toes or shoes.
- The PDU is longer than a traditional power bar. Plan for this before purchasing.
- The power cable running from the back of the PDU is beefy. Use cable ties to attach it to a side rail of your equipment rack, or use Velcro ties to tame the cable.
CyberLink has produced a solid switched PDU worthy of a place on your equipment rack at the office, or in your lab at home.
The price is right for this enterprise-grade equipment - get a few, purchase some Velcro ties, and get to work.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
