    Awesome, works with Smarthings
I bought this to use with Smartthings and replace an old sensor that died (I had hacked it to work with my mail box for remote notification of mail arriving.) Unlike my old GoControl sensor, this did not need any hacking at all and was a simple case of adding my external reed switch to the screw contacts. The extra brown case (Comes with white too) helps it blend in with my fence post. I highly recommend. The only down side to this sensor was the battery was dead when it arrived.

5.0 out of 5 stars Covers wider distance, Works just fine with Home Assistant
Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2023
These z-wave door sensors worked just fine for my home's doors, both of which have a pretty large gap between the frame and the actual door (see images).

I had tried a few other brand's door sensors, but they were all unable to make contact and always showed as open. I eventually discovered this device and am happy to report it does work with larger door gaps. I believe them to be the best in regard to this metric.

I also use this z-wave device with Home Assistant (z-wave JS), and it integrated just fine. Of course, make sure you have a z-wave controller plugged in and set up in Home Assistant for this functionality.

Combined these devices with Alarmo (a Home Assistant HACS integration) and the Ring Keypad V2, Home Assistant now serves as a reliable alarm system.

I've owned this device for about a month and it has served as a reliable fundamental.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and configurable door, window, and contact sensor
Reviewed in Canada on March 2, 2021
Really impressed with these sensors. I bought several to replace Samsung ST door sensors as the batteries weren't lasting. These are a physically larger sensor but that is to accommodate a much larger battery than the coin cells in the ST sensors. Really like the 2 included colour options for the plastic. The mounting plates come with screws and double sided tape to mount to the door frame which the sensor and magnet then clip in to. I found these much easier to install and in many different configurations compared to the ST sensor which I couldn't even get to mount on certain doors. A bonus is the dry contact on the PCB which you can easily wire to an existing door or window reed sensor from a security system, there is even a hole in the case for the wire to run through and another hole for a power cable to pass through should you wish to wire 3V power. The dry contact can be used for any 2 wire switch as well such as a mercury switch which turns the sensor into a tilt sensor, perfect for a garage door (see photo). Z-Wave setup was easy too I just put my Hubitat into Z-Wave inclusion and pulled the battery strip on the sensor and it immediately included into the Hubitat as a generic Z-Wave Contact Sensor. With the generic driver it accurately reports the contact status (whether magnet or wired), battery level, and tamper indicator which activates when the plastic cover is removed. Highly recommend this sensor, especially if looking for a Smartthings sensor replacement.
