SugarLove: Broken Cookies Still Taste Good Paperback – September 1, 2016

5.0 out of 5 stars 21 ratings

SugarLove: Broken Cookies Still Taste Good shares the journey of a single girl as told through the lens of baking her favorite confections. Each recipe comes to life as it personifies a type of guy that she, and surely many other ladies, have dated. In her search for her long-time love, Michelle's dating life introduced her to some nice men, yes, but also to some amazing experiences that she never could have imagined herself in. Perhaps you have dated a Death by Chocolate Cookie Guy, he comes on strong and then disappears just as quickly, or the Fudgy Brownie Guy, he appears to be the bad boy but has a warm inside that will melt your own heart. Follow the author's journey to meet more of these men, and the easy to follow recipes. In this tell all memoir, the author opens up about what she has learned from each relationship and shares what each recipe reveals about the types of men she has dated. Learn from her mistakes, try a new recipe, gain a few pounds, share a few laughs, and most all, find hope from her experiences and continue to see the best in each of our relationships.

This recipe [Vodka Lime Bars] is PHENOMENAL. Absolutely BRILLIANT... I would read this again and a few times over to catch all the humor, puns and outstanding verbiage! --Donjia, Writer/Journist at Media Personality

A clever cookbook that couples attributes of men with recipes to depict the relationship. Who doesn t like sugar & love? --Jessica Soroka, Small Business Consultant, Cultivated Connections

Can I just say.....holy goosebumps! Why have you (Michelle) not written anything before? Reading that left me wanting more, I could actually picture this silver-haired fox! --Traci Sherpa, Reader

Selected as one of 5280 Magazine’s “Denver’s Most Eligible Singles” in the February 2003 issue, the flattering accolade steered Michelle’s life in a direction that she never could have imagined. Outgoing by nature, she welcomed all that the recognition had to bring and embraced her dating life. As for baking, she’s self-taught yet is continuously taking classes to learn new techniques directly from skilled bakers. Perhaps this book will close the single girl chapter of her life and open a new chapter of long-term love.

For everyone who has dated, found love, lost love will find some part of their life in Michelle's stories. I laughed out loud at some, cried at others. Highly recommend this book. I for one am rooting for the right guy to come into Michelle's life and close the dating section of her life. Can't wait for the story that she will write about that. The recipes were great, made me wish I liked to cook, they were and added bonus.

This book does not disappoint. Imagine "sitting with an old dear friend discussing past beau's and past dating history and bringing them to life in the form of a delicious baked good while sipping your favorite cocktail in front of a roaring fireplace". Michelle is the real deal! I cannot wait for her second book. Highly recommend!

Many believe baking is a science, I believe it's an art. Having gotten the book and learned more about the author, I definitely believe that, much like the recipes, the creativity struck just the right balance of sweetness touch to the book. The recipes are outstanding and so are the unique moments that depict a part in each of us. If you ever thought that food is for the body, this book might just prove to you that the soul may also be satisfied one day - I hope you read it.

I LOVE baking but definitely not reading and I couldn’t find myself able to put this book down! I felt like I was sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee talking girl talk with Michelle all while the underlying purpose of the conversation was to learn about yummy things to make. I recommend this book to anyone looking to bake something new but also wanting to unwind to a good dating story which many of us could probably relate to.

Reading this book touched my heart deeply and brought tears to my eyes. Not only is Michelle beautiful on the outside, but her soul has a way of
capturing the essence of these men she has dated. She has been open enough to share with us these experiences that many of us have had.
Her recipes are delicious and each one is better than than next. I highly suggest this book as a great Christmas presenht. Your friends will not be
dissapointed .Although he is gone now, my son was one of those in her book to have loved her recipes and loved her specialness..
