Miracle of Our Lady Fatima (DVD) In this story based on true events of 1917, three Portuguese children share a miraculous, prophetic vision of the Virgin Mary.
Amazon.com
The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima tells the story--through an admittedly Hollywood prism--of one of the most beloved Catholic legends of the 20th century. Three young shepherd children in the remote Portuguese mountain town Fatima reported seeing a vision in 1917 of "a beautiful lady" who spoke to them of strife, war and peace and the love of Jesus. Soon the word spread, and throngs, teetering on mobs, gathered near the site for a glimpse of what they believed to be Mary, mother of Jesus. The children remained steadfast in their account, despite threats from the church and the government, and the final appearance of the lady, on Oct. 13, 1917, was accompanied by strange apparitions in the sky that have yet to be explained by science. The movie is well-made and -acted, especially by a radiant Susan Whitney, who plays the oldest child, Lúcia Abóbora dos Santos. The screenplay takes some liberties with the facts: the lovable jokester-sidekick character of Hugo is fictitious, and one wonders if perhaps a few of Our Lady's cautions about the multitude of evil things happening in 1917 Russia might have been heard through a Cold War filter. But the 1952 film is moving and is a reminder that big studios once routinely, and profitably, released religious-themed movies, to audiences who surely would appreciate some of the same today. --A.T. The message of Fatima is more relevant today than it ever was. I am a Catholic and nearly all traditional Catholics will tell you that the third 'secret' was not what was revealed by the Vatican in 2000 or was it 2001? The consensus among those who are privy to the third secret (or have drawn the logical inference from many sources)is that it deals with the great apostasy of the Church (which we are in) and it starts from the top down. Malachi Martin on a radio show "revealed" the third secret by not stating it himself, but rather confirming a caller's statement that it was that satan would enter into the summit of the Church. Whatever you may think of Martin Fatima foretold that Russia would spread her errors throughout the world -- which she has. Communism is not dead folks, e.g., in S. America all countries save three are socialistic/communistic! Nearly every country in the world is at least socialistic. That's really what the new world order is, i.e., World Communism! Or a form thereof. To hear who took over Russia in 1917 listen to Benjamin Freedman's speech at the Willard Hotel, Washington D.C. 1961. It will also tell you why we were in WWI, WWII and why we're fighting a war for Israel right now! Pick it up at iamthewitness.com. Or you can read from many books who took over Russia (and still control it by the way) Father Denis Fahey's books: The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World, or his: The Mystical Body of Christ and the Reorganization of Society, or The Secret Powers Behind Revolution by Vicomte Leon de Poncins or Behind Communism by Frank L. Britton. As a Catholic I'm sure I don't agree with Texe Marrs on a lot of things but his video: Illuminati, Mystery Babylon is absolutely right on the money. Don't let the title throw you, if you're a Catholic (or Christian with your faith)and believe in the Miracle of Fatima this is for you. You don't have to buy this video simply type in google video on your address bar and then from google video type in Texe Marrs and pick this title out of several of his that are listed. And pass this link on to your Christian brethren!
Yes, I'd like to see Mel Gibson do a remake on this. I consider this movie, i.e, The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima and The Passion of the Christ the two best Christian movies out there!
Great movie wish they would have these movies on regular television.
The film parallels the story very closely but adds a humanistic element of the relation of the children to Hugo de Silva, a character in the film, I do not know if this is historically grounded. The movie is very well done in a way similar to “The Song of Bernadette” however, in color and taking place in Portugal. I was disappointed the opening scene indicated the apparition was on the 15th of May a Sunday. Additionally, the movie did not address all of the three predictions divulged to the children
From my experience the film is very accurate on its portrayal even to the fact it rains during the periods especially October! I was at the Virgil on13 October 13, 2016 where it rained for 3 days and pilgrims were there with a candle display. The film reveals droves of Portuguese coming to Fatima out of the countryside which is what still happens. I am still amazed at the piousness of the Portuguese people even today. This remarkable story of the three peasant children with their respective ultra-pious-attitudes is inspirational.
Watch this film then go to Fatima, go to Fatima and then watch this film. It does not matter what faith you are “The White Lady of Peace” will capture you forever.
