Bigfoot and the Tripwire is the second book of a three part Bitterroot Series. Our main Character John Stone, has returned home from his military deployment in Vietnam and is forced into the wilderness when a family member is murdered. His reaction to the murder would certainly land him in hot water with the local authorities; his only choice is to disappear into the wild. Only able to take what he could fit into his backpack, John Stone embraces his fate and sets his sights on the high country of the Bitterroots. With the rugged Montana Mountains as his new home, he discovers new challenges that will test him in ways that he never would have imagined. Facing the odds of treacherous terrain, adverse weather and building a solid shelter before winter sets in, John Stone realizes that his neighbors are none other than the legendary Bigfoot. The interaction between the group and himself evolves over time and they learn a great deal from each other. The slippery slope of allowing a human to coexist within the culture of the Bigfoot group will demand a little give and take from both parties. Although from two ‘separate worlds’, the continuous association can often blur the fine line of where he fits in and similarities of the human like tribe. This adventure sets the stage for ‘Footprints of a Legend’ which is also available on Amazon and Kindle.

After watching Russell on Expedition Bigfoot, I was thrilled to learn that he is also an author! I pounced at the chance to read his books, and I was instantly captivated. He has created a believable and relatable story filled with engaging characters who quickly win your heart. This book, which is a prequel in a way, follows the story of John Stone. His story is one of heartache and loss, joy and peace, and humor and adventure.

This is a heartwarming book, and it will stay with you long after you finish reading it. I highly recommend Russell’s books to anyone who is looking for a story about Bigfoot, but I promise that it is so much more than that. Happy reading!

This book is a fantastic read, grabbing me at page one kept me reading straight through. One day read. That good. The places match the story and ring true. Those who know those places will enjoy reading about them within the context of a great story. Those who do not will get a taste of a local and want to visit. The story line mixed time, geography, war, combat instinct based on experience, deep feelings, tragedy, hope, local flavor and high country knowhow, touched my heart and drew me in from chapter one until the last page. The author did a great job relaying the reality of life in the high country. His grasp of unspoken communication serves the story very well indeed as the reader meets a variety of very interesting characters. This second book is a prequel to book one in the series and fills in some unanswered questions from the first book. The author has definitely delivered. The books storyline stands alone but who would want to miss the rest of the story? This book is making me read book one again to freshen up the story in anticipation of the third book in the trilogy. Cliff hanger ending creates anticipation. Great job Mr. Acord! I am keenly anticipating book three.

This is a wonderful book that opens our eyes to the world beyond our puny boundaries. Beautifully written, Russell takes us into the Bitterroot mountains, and shows us another world...of wondrous creatures, the beauty of nature, loving and tender hearts, and interaction with the scary unknown, and the possibilities of a shared future with others who are all around us on Earth. Very enjoyable.

This is a great book and really leaves you both with answered questions and hanging for the next book! The violence in the book was clearly left to the imagination and not really more than an MMA fight with the characters. The book was clearly and simply written and made me want to find out if there really are Big Foot in the back mountains

This is a great book with an excellent story of compassion and the building of a relationship across familiar boundaries. I look forward to future books by this author as the first two books have been excellent. This story had me drawn in and always left me wanting to squeeze in just "one more chapter" before going to sleep. Great book.
