Why did I wait so long? I'm thrilled with this thing! This produces much better results than my prior method. It's much quieter, and the flour is no where near as hot. (I used to have to grind my grain the day before I baked bread to give the flour time to cool down enough that I didn't risk killing the yeast.) It produces very little dust. I think the end result is tastier than the flour I ground using my previous method. The first thing I made was whole-wheat pasta from freshly-ground durum wheat. It was tastier than any whole-wheat pasta I've ever purchased, and everyone who's tasted my homemade whole wheat pasta has agreed that it's far superior to store-bought.
It's noisiest when grinding with the stones further apart. However, grinding grain on a coarser setting and then re-grinding to a finer setting produces much less heat, and I think it's faster.
Heed the instructions from the manufacturer. Perhaps read through them a couple of times. This machine is an investment, and you'll want to treat it well. I'm already eyeing several accessories for this machine. I'm hooked!

-The look is classic and beautiful. I am happy and proud to have this mill on my counter.
-The noise level is about the equivalent of a coffee grinder. It's there, but not deafening.
-The fineness of the smallest setting is great - if you grind it twice. It took me a while to realize that if I pre-ground my flour, I would get a fine enough grind for breads and muffins, without a noticeable texture.
-The instructions are a bit vague and insufficient. I had to learn quite a bit about my mill through trial, error, and Youtube. That being said, it was pretty easy to clean, and has performed flawlessly.
I followed the directions to start the machine and then rotate the adjustment for coarse/fine. I put about a cup of wheat berries into the hopper, and the shot out of the spout completely whole and in tact.
I called the customer service line, and felt like the woman was frustrated with me. She cut me off routinely. She personally ended up providing no solution yet, but at least the call was only about 5 minutes.
She said she was going to send my issue to another individual at the company, which was only a few hours ago but still no call back.
Overall, a very negative first impression with this product. I hope it can be resolved soon (Jan 21 2021); will update accordingly.
UPDATE: customer service called me back, and there appears to be scratches/defects inside the plastic teeth of the hopper/top stone interface which may be causing the issue. This representative was very pleasant, and is now forwarding photos of the unit to their head of service for recommendations. She gave off the impression that this was a peculiar/uncommon issue, which would be reassuring for those considering this purchase. Waiting to hear back (1/21/22).

But now that I have this Komo Mill, I grind flour at least once a week! Yes it's loud, but not in the same way the Nutrimill is. The Komo sounds like grains being crushed by stone, while the Nutrimill sounded like a supersonic jet flying overhead.
The Komo also has a much smaller footprint than the Nutrimill, so I just let it live on my kitchen counter, which makes it very convenient to use.. Now I don't bother to keep a lot of flour on-hand, instead I just grind it on-demand.
Also, the fact that you can place any bowl you want under the receptacle makes it much easier to clean compared to the giant bin that you have to use with the nutrimill.
Finally, the beach wood exterior is gorgeous, the dovetailed edges make it feel like a hand made piece of woodwork.
I admit it is a little pricy, but if you are at all interested in nutrient-rich, preservative-free flour, this is the best way to go.
1- the powder gets heated when the grains are grinded.
2- il you need to grind chickpeas, good luck! It's difficult to gring and takes forever!
Other the those tow issues, I've kept this mill because price wise it's the best.
