Powerful stuff

Powerful stuff
I wanted my tung oil finish to have a pleasant orange smell, mission accomplished! This is a great thinner, if natural is what you are going for. I thined my tung oil 1 to 1 with orderless mineral spirits then added about 10% this stuff. It smells like an orange juice factory in my house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great smell, perfect with tung oil
Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020
I wanted a darker finish without using any harsh chemicals. I started with a birch butcher block counter top. I sanded with 400 then 800 grit sand paper. This is probably too fine, but I wanted a smooth surface. I then aged the wood with an iron acetate solution, which is apple cider vinegar and steel wool. I sanded again to eliminate any raised grain.

Now came the fun part. I got to apply Dark Tung oil cut 50/50 with this Citrous Solvent. It smelled amazing; think nutty oranges. I kept applying this mixture until it didn't absorb any more. The next day I ran over it lightly with some 000 steel wool, and applied another coat, this time more like 75/25 tung oil to solvent. Another day later I wiped on straight tung oil. The result is a great looking desk, that should hold up well.
